Well, first find out what ones allow carriers. The rest is a piece of ****.

2x large smartbomb, remote cap rep, 2x drone unit sensor booster, 4x cap recharger 2x eanm, dcu, power relay, cap rep, specific hardener (or you can go dual cap rep)
Try and get two sets of varying fighter dmg types and then just do structure missions > warp, lock up station(target) kill, warp off.

Personally I would recommend two IN heavy neuts in favor of the drone units, for escaping when **** hits the fan.

If you get tackled in a mission you already screwed up 4x and are completely ****ed. Your first screw up was not paying attention to local, second was not noticing those combat scanner probes, third was not warping out the instant something showed up on grid with you and the fourth was sitting on the warp in point instead of 60km off and warp aligned. So I don't think neuts are of any use. I favor 2x RR, 3x DCU, an ECCM or two (makes you harder to probe) and the rest tank/cap recharge. I don't bother with a sebo typically. For drones I suggest your standard pve sets for a drone boat, so explosive and therm drones, everything from lights to sentries and yes, fighters. For pve I suggest keeping 2 sets of fighters on hand, a batch of thermal and a batch of explosive, swap them out as needed. The smaller drones you should be able to fit plenty of both types in at the same time. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Agree with the rest, but your window for spotting probes in a carrier (if you're dealing with a competent prober) is about 10 seconds.

It is true you can normally get a carrier pinned in 1 cycle if you're good, but tbh clicking dscan every 5 seconds is just SO HARD

i trained amarr carrier lvl 5 when i was not playing alot, and i am regretting it, because it is practically useless, lvl 4 would've been sufficient :(

The reason for the ECCM or two is to make it about like a BS to probe. Unless the prober has a virtue set (99.9% don't), it will take a couple cycles to locate you. So you should have time to notice unless you actually run into that oddball from the old probing system that still has the implants and absolute max skills. You should also take seeing a prober ship (cov ops/t3) as a sign to pay extra close attention. If they stick around in system longer than it takes to reach the next gate, you might want to just disappear for a bit.
In any case, fitting neuts is pointless. Every pve carrier I've tackled I went after with an arazu or a sebo'd BS/BC. All of which have cap boosters, so a pair of heavy neuts isn't going to break point before the rest shows up. If they go after you with an inty you might pull it off but no one does, too easy to get insta-popped by 12+ warrior II's. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Haha, I did that too. I've only ever flown a carrier on Sisi :p.
