Seriously, I'm tired of taking all the heat on this issue. I show up in your system, minding my own business and you all dock up. So I wait......and wait.......and wait........ Next thing I know, your on the forum crying about me "AFK Cloaking" in your system.
Come on now, you tell me that you have sat upon your southern binary clusters for 10 hrs watching me in local without going AFK yourself?
There needs to be some mechanism added to the game, (maybe INCARNA) where I can get you to undock or allow me to go in after you. Maybe I can hide in your CQ closet, or air vent. You enter your quarters and you know that I am there, stalking you..... unseen..... patiently waiting for that one shot-one kill assassination.
Oh Yea.... ---

supported and signed.
and should the day come, where you enter my system and I dock up, and you come in after me. And assasinate me in my quarters while i'm watching the dancing girls...I will attempt to controll the urge to shake your and and say "Thank you sir" as my lifeless corps falls to the ground.
'cuase if it happened to me, then it's happened to the afk winers...and I can die happy with that knowledge.

I support this. Should be some sort of game mechanic that ejects players into space if they don't have any activity with-in say 1hr time while sitting docked in station.
Spinning ships should require actual spinning.. I think.
edit.. this should also work for POS's as well.

This. Maybe it should use cap to sit in station, or maybe 'gamma rays' should bombard the station, periodically kIcking afk'ers out. Alternatively, pause the skill queue when in station.

I have a much better idea
Remove all ingame indicators that a character may be online or offline. Always list in local ALL the people in there, including those logged off.
That should nicely solve all AFK-related issues.

Good idea!
This would unfortunately create a whole new world of uses for alt-based chatbots (convo to see if online).

Considering that most people on PvP ops put convos on "block if not in address book", that's not likely to help much. Plus, that would qualify as one of the ingame indicators of online/offline I mentioned, so it'll need to be redesigned. Dunno, something like voicemail or call screening ? The modal window for accepting/denying chats has to die a horrible, painful death anyway. _

Expected discussion of the docking bug where you select a station to dock, warp to it automatically before docking, go AFK during the warp, and later come back to your keyboard only to find yourself chilling outside the station (or killed and podded if you're unlucky).

Edited by: Kharamete on 31/03/2011 03:25:38 When the improved CQs are introduced, I will endeavour to make things easier for the AFK dockers. I have the finest girls (or men) at my disposal that will visit your CQ for a modest fee, and perform a more personal service that will make those idle hours in AFK more enjoyable.

This used to happen to me, and then I stopped pressing Ctrl + Space during warp (I'm weird like that - I send random game commands for no reason, and specifically, in EVE I use the stop command) and I ceased my not docking. If I have encountered this bug, I don't remember it, or didn't recognize it and can't recall now.
