I have recently formatted and reinstalled my operating system and after getting everything set up and test, I downloaded the Eve installer and let it do its thing.
When all was complete I doubled clicked on my desktop Eve shortcut and Eve would not load. I get an image of 'Eve Online Incurion' with the appropriate artwork but after several seconds it closes down and...nothing. No error message, no nada.
I have run the Eve Repair utility and made sure that Eve is permitted thru my firewall (actually turned firewall off and still could not run Eve).
Has anyone had this problem after a re-install? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're on Vista or Win7, right ?
Linkage Get the DirectX June 2010 redist package from microsoft, install it. DO NOT use the web updater.
Should fix your problem. _

Edited by: Barakkus on 31/03/2011 01:34:10 There is a directx install in the eve folder you might want to try first. From what I understand the install sometimes skips that step.
If that doesn't work, start logserver.exe and submit the results + dxdiag info in a Technical Support category petition. Someone will get back to you and try to help you with your problem. https://support.eveonline.com/pages/petitions/createpetition.aspx - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

Direct X is the current version (nor did the redistribute help). I have opened a petition with CCP. Thank you both for your suggestion.

Try different graphics card drivers maybe ? Sometimes the newest ones can be a bit temperamental, see if you can find the previous version somewhere. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. _

Find the DirectX version that's in the EVE install folders (as the guy above said). Run that version. It's not the most up-to-date version but it is the one EVE needs (and you can probably run the latest one straight after).
Hell I had to do that on my Win7 64bit install... and that sure ain't running DX9. :P But it did get it working. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "If men make war in slavish obedience to rules, they will fail." ~ Ulysses S. Grant |
