Minor typo on the frontpage (www.eveonline.com)
"The PLEX for God: Japan drive has come to an end."
I am sure God appreciates it, but I doubt that is what you meant to communicate :)

A huge thankyou to the CCP staff who make the PLEX for good campaign happen along with those who donated themselves. An even bigger thankyou to our generous player base who have repeatedly made these campaigns a huge success.

BRAVO everyone!
Talk about putting game time into a good use. Not many games can do that! (None besides EVE that I know of.)
Good job.

the good news is thats another another 44,000 USD for aid
the bad news is that still works out to less than 1.445 per man woman and child Dead injured or still missing from the combined Earthquake and Tsunami.
I know, its a start.
.end of line.

Here's the sequence of high res, lossless format screenshots of the same contracts:

Beware they will take a while to load as they are > 1M each in size. The character actually executing the donations is my alt who is acting as CEO for Vahrokh's Emergencies Relief Trust [VAERT].

I prefer an official response from ccp of how many Plexes were donated by Vehrokh's RL Emergencies Charity. I don't think this is that difficult to answer.

You seem to have gotten a chip on your shoulder, exactly on one of the few who still does not openly attack your corporation for its opaque practices.
I hope CCP indeed will post their findings so you may find the peace of soul you seem to miss.

You should research Red Cross. I've worked with them before and found them to be very greedy. Red Cross, at one time and probably still, keep about 94% of donation, releasing 6% in the form of aid. If you remember, during the 9/11 drive, Red Cross intended to keep their 90+% until the United State government stepped in and demanded the release of the donations.
btw, American Cancer Society works about the same way. Check before you donate!

So when's CCP going to acknowledge the community's request to donate the value of destroyed plexes to causes such as this?
Or is CCP only happy to facilitate the community's generosity but unwilling to demonstrate their own, especially with money they haven't earned (EG was not and never will be claimed as play time)? |

Wow I knew charaties thesedays were used as sudo-business's but when they pay there CEO oevr half a million a year for a charity I have to wonder. that level of high operational costs charaties these days are just a way to create a job that distracts from real charity work :(.
How much of the donations will end up in Japan - we don't know and alas I don't think anybody could garantee that.
I never donate to chariaties and prefer to do good work directly as it appeases my consciousness.
When charities take so much out of donations that they make pension companies look like angels then I feel I have to cry.
FYI I made my donation to Japan directly in a way that 100% went to the needs.
I would rather the monies collected sponsored a CCP employee to go over and do some good than going to the CEO of some charities wallet - next time perhaps.

No offense to anybody but the Japanese Red Cross has repeatedly stated that they don't need donations. Even the American Red Cross has made statements to the effect that donations intended for Japan may or may not actually be used in Japan for the stated purpose ... or even used in Japan for any purpose at all.
The problem the Japanese are having, other than the nuclear disaster, is the government bureaucracy there operates slower than molasses in January.
...
Then again the American city of Nashville was completely flooded with even the Grand Ole Opry so under water that people could, and did, canoe across the main stage. And that hardly made the national news.

Awesome job by the community. I am stationed in Japan and have been in Japan for a total of 13 years now. I see the news here everyday and compare it to the news about Japan in the states. The U.S. news doesn't really give a good picture of the devastation and damage the earthquake and Tsunami did, not to mention the resulting nuclear crisis that is still a huge issue. Current estimates are 27,000 dead or missing. That number does not yet include all the lives lost in small fishing villages that were completely wiped from existance along the northern coasts. Seeing the videos on TV and internet here in Japan really brings the picture home. So many without homes and living in extremely poor conditions, little drinking water, no electricity durring what is still winter in the northen part of japan, while coping with the loss of children and parents. What the EVE community has done will make a difference for a lot of those people. Getting them blankets, clothes, water to drink, food, kerosene for heaters....etc. I know they are so very grateful for any help they recieve. Great job by the EVE community.
