Edited by: Oldest Sister Shaishi on 03/04/2011 00:19:03 Hi,
About week ago i bought new character (first one!) and after transfer and first login i have rookie channel. As player who spent in EVE few years, i don't need it.
I'm posting idea about choice box when any character transfered betwin accounts can decide about "I want join to this channel" or "Thanks, i don't need this".
I know then Rookie Channel is client side "feature" and they don't have any operator who can ban players or somethink like that but i think, CCP can do somethink with this.
Of course they need your voice and your support for this idea.
Best regards, OSS
PS. Sorry for my crapppy english, it suck :(

Hmmm, thought that channel went by account age... Did you happen to make a new account to transfer the character to?

So whats the problem? Just close this channel or try to write the petition with complain. No need to fix things that isn't broken. If you want pure unmoderated haven - join "Russian" channel and feel the pain, really.
I propose additionally provide exams on EVE basics for people who bought the characters. If you fail you will get one more month in Rookie channel mwahaha.

The channel is only avaiable for a certain ammount of time (i think a month?) but the problem is that every time you log in you have to close it again. There is (well atleast this was the case when i started) no way to close the channel for "good" until you get "to old" to be in there anymore.
So i can understand the..annoyance? people who create alts might have with this channel, but honestly if ccp decides to make a "close this, and dont ask me to join it again" thing,it would have little to no impact on the game.
Would i mind a change? No. But i also wouldent care if they decided to not change it. But thats just my opinion Phoibe Enterprises

Edited by: Maplestone on 03/04/2011 04:55:51 Can't you just merge the rookie chat window with the local display window so that it is never more than a never-visited tab of an always-open window?

Heh ... if you want to try this, I recommend having the following in a note to copy-paste.
"Go to Arnon, dock at the SOE station and speak to Sister Alturia"
"You have to scan to 100%. 95% isn't "nearby" it's not a lock"
"Yes it sucks you lost your ship. Stop buying skillbooks from lowsec and learn to use market filters"
You'll wear out the C & V keys within 45minutes
