How would people feel about being able to purchase all sub-cap ships through the LP store? So many people PvP and then run missions to rebuild their wallets. Obviously, the LP would have to be scaled to match or undercut current market prices during the time that a ship is purchased with LP, and considering how many mission runners there are, carebear and non-carebear alike, who would benefit from this idea. Thoughts?

It's an interesting idea but I don't think the mineral market would be too happy.

Cool idea indeed, but it would wreck the mineral market as said. So I can't support it, nevermind the fact that the mineral market is already botted to death. But that's a separate issue. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Sure. Wipe out the industry completely and buy everything you need from LP stores.

Many people in this game will always be about convenience. They will buy from the market just to keep from grinding missions. As the market is now, it's smarter to sell your minerals and just buy a ship than to build one. Capital production would be unaffected as well.
If everyone actually spent their LP on ships now, we'd all be flying faction. Same with T2 versus faction modules. There are so many sought after things like implants, faction ammo, and charters that I don't foresee the mineral market dieing because more options are available for obtaining ships.

I dont think NPCs should sell much of anything. EVE is about total player community.
Even faction ships in the faction stores need a ship to convert it into the faction version. [≡v≡] |

Edited by: Zan Shiro on 03/04/2011 22:39:59 T1 already has enough problems with free mins producers, does need handouts via lp ships.
Mission runner already has this ability as well. You kNow them drone missions so loved and blizted without looting/salvage if taken at all (some decline this and hope for better)....they get you the raw materials to have frigs-cruisers up quick. BC's save a couple missions, BS save a few more over that. Just need to score a preresearched bpo or look for deals on bpc's on contracts. For personal use don't even need to be an uber indy.

Unfortunately, I am an indy, and over the last few years, I've always found it more profitable to sell the mins and buy the ship. The mins for a T1 ship are worth more than the ships on the market.

Clean out the market and put up the ships at a better price.. or reprocess them and build other ships or sell the minerals...
