It would be great if CCP could free up locked character names at request.
Does EVE have a mechanism built in where you can prompt a user to change his name like in the case where the name is offensive? It would be great if CCP could apply that same mechanism to situations such as this, where long abandoned characters that never left a trial period (sp at or below a certain amount) can have their names freed for use, and if the user someday re-subs, his character is there but he will be prompted to change the name upon login? Some really great names are locked in 03/04 characters that were obviously abandoned long ago. implement this in stealth mode, not listed in patch notes, otherwise you will see a flood of name requests...
respond if you support this idea.
(this was probably suggested before but a search didn't bring up any results)

This has been suggested before but I still agree with it (in a limited fashion).
Any trial account (never activated) that is over 6 months old should be deleted. Seriously, if they do want to play, they can make a new account. How much are you really going to accumulate in that 14 days (or 30) on a noob character anyway? --Vel

So because they ignore your whiny little post regarding which you didn't do any research before spamming this forums means they don't listen at all ? Must be true

Edited by: Lianail Deninard on 05/04/2011 15:53:20 I agree with this post, although I'd leave the accounts alone for a year. Data Clensing is an issue in most of the MMO games I've been on.
In other forums, they state that they will review all topics on an intermittant basis. That means they make take a month or two to get to a particular post. I'm guessing that they do this during the requirements gathering phase of each major software release. That's fairly standard industry practice.
