Seems impractical to me. Wouldn't you rather force them to wait until they get back to their station so it takes longer to get back into a ship? Increasing your chances of surviving? |

In w-space, because it forces them out of the wormhole. Elsewhere, because you never know what assets they might have nearby; it's preferable that they have to come back to you from "home" than go a few jumps and return in another ship. For the same reason you'd teabag in certain other games. With the added bonus that implants can be very expensive and it's a nice feeling knowing you just trashed the in-game equivalent of -ú100+ worth of stuff. |

About your latter point. It seems less likely that they would keep their important assets somewhere other than where they keep their clone. |

I am doing them a favor, the pod-express is the quickest way back to your home station. Who would want to fly 20 jumps in a pod anyways?
Sometimes though, you lose implants which is a good cost for the pod-express. |

No, just pure joy.
Also, pods are people too - and the fewer people on the field acting as warpins, scouts or other sources of intel, the better.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

I pod die more than pod kill. And I let that happen for a few reasons. One, it's a quick ride home. And two, I've already lost the ship so the cost of a new clone on top of that is nothing.
But if I can be bothered, and actually manage to get in a position to kill a pod, then I do it because it cost me the time and effort.

Because while we've been having our non consensual space duel they may have calling in their back-up. While they are still in their pod they can give their blob mates a warp-in, thus preventing me from looting their wreck.
TBH, If they haven't warped their pod away the moment they exploded, they are definitely trying to provide a warp-in.

A couple months ago during the Fall of Delve I was in a big battle with about 1600+ in local and 10% Time Dilation-¬
My ship died, I forget why and usually I would self destruct myself and reship. The 2 minute self destruct takes about 20 minutes in heavy Tidi. It was suggested that we jump out to a different system to self destruct faster.
The enemy had a blops gang on the otherside of our out gate and were holding pods, webbed and scrammed. So they couldn't get to 'faster' systems to self destruct. That seemed like the longest 20 minutes of my life because I wanted to get back in that fight really bad.
Personally, I couldn't be assed to try and do something like that, the faster you reship, the faster you can lose that ship again. If I see a pod, I shoot it, out of plain and simple spite. http://www.themittani.com Bringing balance to the world of Eve news |

Because nothing says "Begone insignificant one" like popping a pod and seeing them dissappear out of local.
To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |
