Are they going to change/limit that?
The Video!

Last time I checked the Remote Sensing skill determined the range at which you can manipulate a planet (providing you dropped off a CC there). So that hasn't changed I believe.

Confirmed, crashing planets into low sec gates camps is awesome, but there is an issue of kill mails being borked. Hope they fix it or I might just cancel my 9 accounts.

remote sensing lets you scan planets at range you can manipulate at every range but you cannot lounch if youre out of system or docked

QFT and cleaned up.

Erm, not really.
The installation layout in the video was terrible. Each item (processor, extractor, launch pad, etc.) should be immediately adjacent to one another to conserve on PG and CPU resources used by links.
A more advanced PI video should include production lines that go all the way up to P4 materials. Or at least include the production of a P2 material on a single planet. Or talk about various techniques for taking advantage of the super hot spots that pop up on planets regularly. Etc.
This was a basic video for entry level PI-interested players, at best.

Edited by: Baneken on 06/04/2011 14:07:51 You can view planets from any distance but the farther your view the more screwed are your scan results and max distance for scanning a planets is 9LY. You can manipulate planetary infrastructure from any distance but you cannot launch anything to orbit while being cloaked, in station or in another system.

I hadn't noticed the size of my extractor heads changing as I changed the period of time... is that new with the expansion?

That feature came with the patch that introduced extractors + extraction heads earlier this year. That is not new to Incursions 1.4.
Originally by: Ingvar Angst This is a horrible tutorial by the way. So much wasted linkage. No spaceport. Storage facility? Ugh.
Agreed, mostly. Storage facilities can be a less expensive (ISK) intermediate staging location for materials waiting to be processed and then shunted to a launch pad. It all depends on your production flow volume.

It depends more on your ratio of CPU to PG usage (assuming you already have launching, importing, exporting covered). One Spaceport holds 10k m3, at a very high CPU/low PG cost. Two storage units hold 10k m3 at a low CPU/high PG cost.
An Advanced CC powering a 20-factory P3 planet will leave enough room for two spaceports, providing storage for up to 30 hours. You couldn't fit four storage units (or 1 spaceport, 2 storage) without reducing your factory count.
