Can't you re-customise your character with the new patch? If so what is the point of this thread? |

Edited by: cow betatehta on 06/04/2011 17:51:00 The contents of the patch apperently do not allow complete customization. |

To my knowledge, they're giving another free (full) re-customization with this patch.
I'd confirm, but I'm posting from class. |

Oh yeah I almost forgot about that... still i'm rather curious if CCP will even keep the service after all this.

no. You no longer have a portrait. You now have an avatar.

I thought the old portraits were also avatars? i mean the portraits were taken as the renditions of avatars, right?
are you saying that the old portraits were stored as the images and the avatars we created before were discarded completely?
what I wanted is to take my other avatar data and replace my main's avatar data with that, but if they are not stored,

No, as I understand it, it was only meant to be for the portrait process and not a working model. Even so they weren't good working models.

doesn't seem to be so since when you use the new one-time re-customization option, your old avatar is used as the base so you may choose to do only some minor tweaks rather than try to re-create your old avatar from scratch. Only thing that is off is the second screen. While before, if you were flagged for re-customization, you started from brand new avatar regardless of your old one.

Yes you can get a haircut...
And it's about time people were forced to live with the faces they sculpted. Hideous walking abortions are the fault of the creator, not the system.

so that's a good thing imo. It would be immersion breaking. plastic surgery does not change your BONES.

Yet. If I remember correctly that was a service that CCP was thinking of letting players provide. So all of the players who are helpless when it comes to making avatars can hire out the services of the players who are really good at it and get an avatar they are happy with. Hopefully.

Why would a space deity that never leaves their pod or in the future, their room care what their bone structure looks like?
Implants and Space travel allows the pilot to do lots of cool things. Plastic Surgery doesn't. While the tech may exist, there is no practical demand. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

Off course it does. From bone elongation to make people taller to chiseling to face bones to make them less sharp, i.e. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2011/03/how-mma-fighters-use-plastic-surgery-to-bleed-less/ There are no macrominers in EVE |

Any plans to allow a bloodline change? Or clone jump into another body than your bloodline's as was mentioned in a blog?
Originally by: Lord's Prophet we have interstellar travel and neural implants, but not plastic surgeons, in new eden.
Quite indeed! It seems we lost a lot of technology on the way! ________________* - If you're in favour of a bloodline change please vote in the Assembly Hall in this thread - |

With the cloning tech available plastic surgery would not be going under the knife, it would be waking up in a new clone that has green eyes instead of blue. They already have people cloned to look like others in the backstory ffs.
