Looking to lean on the collective knowledge of our community and ask, if I end up solo versus 2-3 buffer tanked nano BCs, what ship would stand the best chance of standing toe to toe against a small squad?
I figure you're at least looking at command ship or BC, but let me know your thoughts.
Assume each of the group has me pointed, what ship/fit would you suggest for;
a) Survivability b) Lasting the battle and dropping between 1-3 of their ships -- A.D.

Sleipnir, or Nanopest (that's right) +5 interwebs for fleet issue, and I would expect heavy neut torp typhoon could all pull this off.
I am guessing that others have ships that could pull this off, also some T3 builds... as I dont fly anything other than Minmatar, and do not fly T3s, sadly, I cannot comment.
Sleipnir just screams "Die. More."

Scorp. Will prolly still die, but if flown well (cap booster, scram, mwd(ab), 4 racial jammers, 1 ecm burst, 4 torps (and two nos), plate, dcu, eanm, sda, trimarks) and drones - 2 ogre, 2 hammers, 1 hob), it would have a fighting chance.
The problem with any fight like this is that it is rarely likely to stay at 3 to 1 and the BCs will almost always be able to disengage if things get hairy for them.

Nano BCs = Shield Canes.
You have to survive 1200+ incoming dps, 120m3 of drones (usually ECM drones) and 4-6 medium neuts while dealing roughly 100-150k damage yourself (~50 per Cane).
Sorry, but it can't be done in a BC/CC hull, you need a BS. Neut/Blaster Dominix does very nicely as does a drugged out Auto Maelstrom, anything else will like die from cap starvation long before it becomes a 50/50 fight.

Passive fit Rattlesnake would fit the bill nicely. Absolutely massive tank, totally capless, heavy drones to eat people and missiles for when you aren't jammed.

vs 3bc, a battleship with a scram+web should pretty much work just fine. Killed 3 bc + a stealth bomber that way. failed because I burned out most of my guns and tried to stick around to loot while one of them came back in a hic

Cyclone. I'm pretty sure Garmon uses one in his video to take down 3 or 4 BC at the same time. Sure he has the best possible implants and boosting and is able to separate them.

That scene is amazing but also fairly misleading for this thread. Not only does he have HG crystals and a T3 booster, but his enemies are terribad and there's only 1 hurricane. Not saying Garmon isn't an incredible PvPer, but all those things came together to make those fights possible.
If you are facing 2-3 HURRICANES, which is by far the most common ship in gangs right now, it's basically impossible to engage them in any battlecruiser. Not only are they fast and difficult to split up, but 4-6 medium neuts will destroy a BC's meager capacitor and small ECM drones with no smartbomb will have you jammed half the time. Drakes are a similar case minus the neuts.
You absolutely must be flying a battleship to counter a gang like that solo. Dual rep/rig an armor BS or fly a maelstrom, and always have a smartbomb fitted for the inevitable ECM drones. Do your best to split them over a gate or distance even though that's likely impossible for nano-BCs, and brawl them down. Definitely doable in a dual-rep Dominix or Tempest, but best in a XL-booster Maelstrom (crystals will make a fight like that child's play - your limit will be more like 5-6 BC). Bring a booster pill in either case.
As for the nano-pest suggestion - pretty worthless imo. Without an active tank you won't survive long enough on the field to kill everything, and you won't outrun more than 1 fast battlecruiser, even with your heavy neuts.

Suppose it's only advantage would be the ability to leave the fight at will (more or less). Sleipnir and 3-rep Myrm will also have their cap crushed by hurricanes.
Depending on the piloting skill and the random **** that happens a really good sac can do it.
Of course, I'm talking fed web, navy cap booster 400s, exile, boosty legion, hardwirings, moderate tank pimpage.......
And it'll all end up coming down to how gutsy the canes are and how long it takes them to switch from barrage, and if the drones don't get a lucky jam in the beginning of the fight(before your lone small smartbomb can kill the ecm drones)

I mean if you want to count on the enemy being completely ******ed i suppose that could work. But any hurricane will immediately realize A. it needs to get in range to apply its neuts and B. missile damage doesn't decrease over range but turrets do, leading to the conclusion to sit right on the sac's face with PP loaded. Doesn't matter how fast/pimped your ship is when you have no cap and your damage is ****-poor to begin with because you've used all your lows for tank.
Also not sure why there are all these suggestions using a T3 booster alt - the OP says he wants SOLO ships and makes no reference to possessing any alts.

Dominix with heavy neuts AND blasters, probably buffer tanked. Use the neuts to stop the enemy, then catch them and pummel them with drones and blasters.

Apocalypse.
1) Greatly Underestimated 2) Excellent Damage Projection with MP II and Scorch L 3) Massive Capacitor 4) 4 midslots 5) Decent Dronebay 6) Many pvp gangs won't realize you are pvp fit till one of them explodes

Only newcomers to the nano-cane uses barrage these days. Basic twin-TE fit gives near perfect range envelope using EMP/PP so there is no ammo change needed.
Either way, choosing a fight that can only be won/enjoyed if the opponent(s) are noobs is not PvP .. might as well suicide gank Hulks for all the challenge it provides

Sad but true. Solo PvP survived the switch to 'blob=norm' but has now finally perished to the 'T3alt=norm'.

You get 1x fall-off at disruptor range using EMP/PP ammo and after factoring in damage type and potential ammo change you'd be a fool to actually use barrage against anything but Gallente boats which are rare as hell these days.

Your silly = /
I do use Barrage @s default when roaming about. Only really switching to damage ammunition when going into face melting range. The difference in damage @ disruptor range (24k) between Barrage and Republic Fleet-amunnition, is not significant. even with increased damage and damage type. Pretty sure that has alot to do with increased falloff with barrage. Cheaper to use barrage too.
Anyways, a Hurricanes damage is pretty sh!t @ range when compared to the Harbinger (pulse lasers) and Drake (heavy missiles). Kinda thing that makes me want to fly the Harbinger more i suppose... Great at popping frigates and cruisers though!

I have done something close to this solo. 2 nano hurricanes and a cynabal vs. 100mn Tengu***
Just kept range > 20km and as soon as I noticed they were going to try to turn and burn just switched into a chase. Only got the 2 canes and it wasn't even a close fight.
***: I don't use the standard LSB 100mn tengu, Pith A Medium + 7th midslot FTW.
With some good manual piloting to stay out of neut range I'm willing to bet a sliepner could do it solo using the same tactics.

Tempest might also be a good candidate.
Fun topic though...
