Hey everyone!
The people reporting this aren't crazy (at least when it comes to exploration sites). There is currently a bug which effectively means that TQ "runs out" of exploration sites the longer time passes. They then re-spawn at downtime, and the process repeats itself. This should not affect all types of sites, so if you're running anomalies in upgraded systems, it should not be an issue.
We have a fix for this, which is still pending testing. Hopefully we'll have it ready to go Thursday, if not, then at the earliest possible opportunity next week.
Thanks for all the feedback and bug reports
Dear Soundwave, How are things developing on the exploration and ded-sites issue? Could you get new code/ fixes testing yet and what do you think when we'll see TQ be back for good for us, who we scan ;)
Thanks for your respond! Jon

I guess the lack of news means no fix for exploration, so thank you CCP for ruining that part of the game for more than a week. I have a week off and ofcourse the patch has the screw up the one part of the game i still enjoy beside pvp. Awesome. Was nice that you acted like "oh right, that's broken too we will patch it sometime" and not like it's a critical bug, even took ages to confirm it at all.

There's a bug with subsystems. If you have t3 docked in station which has disabled fitting service, and drag&drop new subsystem over the current one, current one will be removed and then you will be told that fitting service has beed disabled.
So your ship is stuck.

Edited by: ISquishWorms on 14/04/2011 13:07:05 I don't know if this is a new bug or at what point it got introduced. If you have a ship (in my case a badger) which has a cargo expender and this ship is not your currently active ship if you open its cargo hold the bonus from the cargo expander does not get applied. Not sure if this only affects the badger or others ships as well maybe someone could confirm this.

It would be very much appreciated if you respond on time U mind look at bug 109440? tyvm
Sorry, I'm not in the bug filtering team so I don't have an overview of what has been reported. But are you sure this is the correct number? "eve and cpu not getting above 50% cpu load" ?

On behalf of CCP Soundwave I can confirm that the fix for re-spawning was applied during today's downtime. I will keep on watching this thread, if you still feel there's something wrong please let us know.

In regards to the patch notes "fix": "An issue with the text in chats not wrapping properly has been resolved."
- It has not been resolved. In fact, now, for me, it is persistently consistent in overlapping the first typed line of any chat window, and continues to do so throughout all chats. (Tested in 9 chats since 1.4.2 upgrade)
It looks like you're describing another issue, the wrap issue was that words would be split on apostrophes (so e.g. if you had "you're" at the end of a line it would be split in two when wrapped). You talk about overlapping text, can you please describe the issue in more detail. Thanks
Oh god, finally a CCP representative addressing chat window issues. Ever since the UI got a back-end overhaul last Fall and through to this day, all chat windows have been bugged for me.
Issue #1 - Across every chat window and multiple clients, sometimes lines of chat will overlap by a single line. This issue is highly repeatable and is resolved by resizing the chat window.
Specifically, the bottom line of the next to last chat entry overlaps with the top of the most recent chat entry. My chat is configured to display time stamps and show only text.
Issue #2 - Possibly related to the above, when a chat window has enough text to initiate scrolling, the very last line of the most recent wrapped chat entry is not viewable without resizing the window. This issue is highly repeatable.

How will we know if something is wrong, or right, for that matter? Spawn rates are still not clearly defined from the initial dev blog by CCP Big Dumb Object.
Please set some clear guidelines on what we should expect.

^^ This is something I see happening a lot to my chat windows also. I had hope that the last patch fixed it due to the patch notes but it obviously addressed a different issue.

You should at least not expect to see numbers decreasing over the course of a server run, so you have maybe 5 sites soon after downtime and none 12 hours later.

ok i run 4 accounts alot of the crashing has started on the last patch 1.4.2 i did get random crashes but it didnt do it as much as it did on the last patch. I run Windows 7 64 bil AMD Triple Core with 4 gigs of patriot gaming ram. but today i have crashed 7 times within 2 hrs now. and i havent done anything different goto a astroid belt mine. I even applied the patch when it asked me before logging into the game. I am spending more time figuring out why i am crashing.. also all my graphics is turned way down for better gpu and cpu performance. my clients run off there different folders and harddrives for better game caching performance.
thanks, Cid

Well I tried the repair tool yet again and it failed at 62%, again.
"Downloading: 62.2%, 84.42 MB/135.64 MB, 94.64 KB/s, 09m14s", it been sitting there with its at 62.2% now for an hour, yet I can surf and do other downloads without issue.
Can CCP please provide a repair tool that can be stopped and restarted but with it carrying on from where it stopped the previous time. This is such a basic feature of most software that requires a self update I cannpt believe its been over looked.
I have been unable to update Eve now since the new patch because of this. Its never been a problem before.
I realise that CCP are over worked and my issue is one of multitudes but please provide a tool with this feature.

You should at least not expect to see numbers decreasing over the course of a server run, so you have maybe 5 sites soon after downtime and none 12 hours later.
Do you mean to say that if a given null-sec system has x cosmic signatures (Combat / DED, Mag, Radar or Ladar) and those signatures are probed and run that new signatures will spawn after a period of time and w/in the scope of a server run(*) in order to consistently maintain x amount of signatures in that system?
Also, is the number of signatures tied to the Entrapment Array IHUB upgrade value? We have seen such inconsistent performance across multiple systems and regions with an IHUB and the Entrapment upgrades that the justification for sinking ISK into that upgrade is not warranted based upon historical experience.
It is understandable if there is proprietary information related to NPC spawn rates, but we will need enough information to be able to report the [working] status of these exploration sites.
(*) - where a "server run" is the period of uptime between DTs?

Edited by: mkint on 14/04/2011 22:54:57 Also, if you're looking at chat issues, when you hit space to bring focus to the chat, it does a resize refresh thing on the window. This isn't normally an issue except when the client is suffering the much-increased client-side lag that's been getting worse and worse with each patch. Often ctrl-space to stop while suffering client-side lag will often not recognize the ctrl, and just try to bring focus to the chat window, which also tries to refresh the chat window making the client-lag even worse.

Ha! I did call it last night that it was a stealth patch to the server. Always a good clue when DT doesn't start up properly.
I just wonder how many times stealth fixes (and bugs) go in without us knowing.

I board my Falcon, which when last used pre-patch, all modules were online. Now in my high slots only my Covert Ops cloak is active...all other high slots are greyed out, or darkened, whatever you want to call it...signifying they are offline.
I right click, or click Put Online in fitting screen, and it tells me xxxx is already active. If I undock, they are still darkened/offline. When I click to activate the modules I get the message about onlining them via the right click context menu. Again, if I right click and select Put Online, I am told xxxx is already active.

Have tried with several ships, all have various high/mid/low slots that seem to be offlined, and cannot be onlined. Removing and refitting the modules still fits them in an offlined state.
Seems to be no way to online them.

Just lit a cyno using my Falcon. Clicked once to start the cyno...module did not show the green activation timer ring encircling the module as it usually does. Checked my settings and this is enabled.
Right clicked and stopped the module...hovering mouse over cyno tells me it is inactive. Waited out the remaining time, and then noticed another batch of Liquid Ozone disappear from my cargo hold. The cyno started a second cycle, after it was supposedly made inactive.
Had to offline the module entirely to get it to stop, or else I would have been stuck there all night.

hi
Any answer on this, I tried it again for the umpteenth time and the download went fine until 61.3% and then slowed and stopped.
Again I tested that all other types of downloads were possible, which they were.
Now If I was able to stop and restart the repair.exe tool where it left off I'd have had the Eve client updated long ago.
I've lost days of training on my toon now.
