So how long until you fire everyone involved, buy a copy of vBulletin with a custom skin, and put the rest of the money towards hiring Team BFF2?

The new forums were such an epic fail in regards of security, that they gave the old ones back to us while they go back to the drawing board with the new ones :D
This is true, I refrain from linking certain other sites where its reported what happened, in fear of repercussions from CCP. They banned enough many people as is, and I don't expect them to act in an adult manner about this. The new forums were a ****-up of epic proportions.

Edited by: Darius III on 11/04/2011 12:16:54 I think you guys are maybe missing the best lulz of the entire fiasco: Click the link in OP's original post.... To the 'new forums' and it gives you the warning:
WARNING! Hackers are spamming our forums with links leading to key-loggers/Trojans and then ruining the accounts of players that navigate to those links.
You have chosen to follow an external link. This link leads to a site outside of the control of CCP and, as such, we cannot offer any guarantee of its safety.....
If you wish to proceed please click the link below, or press your browsers back button to return to where you were. https://forums.eveonline.com/
See what they did there? I was ROFL at this Truly Epic Fail

This DevBlog is now in the same state as the forum last week - it is linking to "http://www.eveonline.com/externalLink.aspx?l=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Eeveonline%2Ecom%2F" But I reaching the old forum (the working one).
Sorry, your incompetence is reaching now a new high after boot.ini.

Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

Because scapegoating and punishing single employees is the way to improve a management issue and an unhealthy corporate mentality?
Your naivete is endearing.
The person that was thrown out the window was not an EVE developer. It was the player who reported the problem on the forums.

Then make BFF2 all-female, and turn fixing internet spaceships into a battle of the sexes. If the men of BFF1 win, the Incarna art team will spend a dev cycle designing sunglasses and guns. If the women of BFF2 win, clothes and makeup.
Hey, if it gets the job done...

"ensure that people who help us out are given some form of reward"
As a matter of fact I've never seen anybody getting rewarded for reporting bugs so far. And guess what? Trust becomes a big issue if CCP does not manage to properly protect users.

CCP has a history of punishing, not rewarding those who whistleblow.

I should be sleeping, yet here I am posting about the new forums in a topic about the aforementioned. Please, take your time getting this ready and worked out! I can't wait to have them back. It would be a shame to see them go a second time.
Much kudos, regardless of the problems you guys have had. We all make mistakes - like me getting podded 4 times in 24 hours. That'll teach me to leave my brain in bed and login during an attack. And if you're reading this, you've fallen into a signature trap. You owe me 1m ISK. |

How about getting with the program and stop wasting time on forums, just buy some that have been tried and tested since the early 90's and they are cheap and very popular so nobody needs to learn again.
