this is just an idea,. good or bad i dont care, you choose.
id like to see some solar-systems,. 5-10 linked togather wich would be like 0.0 or lowsec but with one change,. no bigger ships than BS,. you can explain why with all sorts of "science" :P
this imo might be fun, as it might bring allot of fights to this area, and im not a fan of the big ships myself and have they ruined my day number of times. :P

Edited by: Wetu on 10/04/2011 12:19:06 what are you talkin about w-space? there are carriers there allso, and its not a part of the eve basic uneverse,. as in u need to scan down and find wormholes,. allso comparing w-space to regular space is kinda funny,. no npc stations,. no local, no stargates,. so your comments are useless.

I'm not a fan of small ships myself, all they do is bring lag to capital battles, tackle friendly capitals and did I mention massive lag? especially those drakearmy support fleets and their laggy missiles.

how is that comparable to what im suggesting?
the idea is simple yet you trolls dont seem to get it,. a few connected systems close to empire space like low-sec to make this playground for the small ship¦s.
all this would rly do is to potentially bring allot of heat to this new kind of region ( could be created out of excisting systems ) and the only thing special about it is that its cap-ship free, like a perma cyno-jammed low or 0.0.

how so? i havent really checked em out,. i heard they are more like events that happen at random places.
and the c4 wh idea,. sure that could work,. but for a casual gamer like me thats way too much bother,. id rather just go to the playground and see whats goin down,. without all the prep work of setting up poses and finding targets to wardec,. kind of how i play eve today,. simple as possible.
but yeah i dont see this happening and idont rly need it to happen, just think it would be sweet to have a region like that, thatsall

carriers in low-class wormholes are easily killed scanning is easy npc stations are dumb (unless you like docking games, lol) local is lame stargates and aggression mechanics are also very dumb.

carriers in low-class wormholes are easily killed
wormhole space forever
Confirmed, though it has more to do with them thinking that carriers are solopwnmobiles, not knowing how to fit them, lacking the proper support fleet, or simply leaving them on a wh they can't jump through.
(I know some of those were higher class wormholes, but there were no caps involved in killing any of them) (there were some caps on the other side in some cases)

i dont see how this has anything to do with the idea im suggesting, you guys still dont seem to get it.
this is not just about getting fights without fear of carriers bein dropped,. its allso an idea that could bring allot of targets to the same place,.
i dont need tobe told about wormholes or cyno jammers,. i know this.

skull, while carriers are terrifying and hard to kill for any subcapital fleet, they are a little rare. if you are in space where lots of capitals are dropped on you, you may want to find new grounds. i've been zipping in, out, and around lowsec for a while now, and the only carrier i've ever seen was in a pos bubble.
i had an idea a while ago to give capital ships targetable components. i thought the components should have a drone sized signature and a cruiser class tank. that way, with persistance, teamwork, and lots of luck, a frigate wolfpack could disable jump drive, warp drive, sublight engines, drone control arrays, drone launch bays, ect.
i thought that the idea could be balanced since the carriers can launch a lot of light drones to pick off the frigates, and they could have their own frigate escort. the idea was shot down for being unbalenced, or as i like to think of it, "pwn my solopwnmobile wit teamwerks? nowai!"

I think the OP has an irrational fear of carriers, they are not all that much more difficult to destroy than a battleship, and they certainly output less damage than one properly fitted faction battleship. --- Click here for my high resolution renders. |

Irani, the difference that i've noticed between the battleships and the carriers is the ability to remote rep with a lot of effectivness.
imagine a gaurdian pair fielding heavy drones with bonuses. now imagine the gaurdians have hundreds of thousands more HP and capital sized repping power. then you give them more drones deployed at a time.
