I have a question I've been wanting to know the answer to for awhile:
If I use one of the research speed hardwirings (say, for ME research), does the percentage speed bonus still apply if I jumpclone to a different set of implants (say, for combat) while the research job is still underway? Or, does the job suddenly slow down a little while I'm away from the research clone?
Thanks for any clarity on this.

It's all calculated at the time the job is put in. So when it's started is the only time the check is done.

Spectre - That's what I suspected but wasn't sure of. Sounds good! Thanks.

Very good question. Now I can't say I've tested this hypothesis, but I do know if you were to say level metalurgy to 3 to 4 after you installed a job it wouldn't speed up. I imagine simply for server load reasons the time is calculated when starting, meaning the implants effects would stick. If you have a spare slot and an unused bpo I suggest buying a cheap 1% implant, put in a job (make sure there is a difference in time). Start it then destroy the implant.
Then come tell us I buy mission loot in bulk at above buy order prices! (sinq laison) |

Vierego - I only use a limited number of research slots and it would be a few weeks before I could test it with a 1% ME implant. I can't say it with 100% certainty but I'm betting Spectre is right that the checks are done when the "transaction" is made with the research lab (much like skill checks are made when starting research with R&D agents I would think).

There is nothing to test there. It works like Spectre Wraith already mentioned.

I was typing that up as she submitted it. I still hold it good to test everything yourself, Lord knows I've done plenty of first hand testing myself. I buy mission loot in bulk at above buy order prices! (sinq laison) |
