Ran Serpentis Blockade in a Drake. Perma Jammed. Left mission after my drones killed the scram on me and fit an ECCM... still perma jammed. Seemed like 6-8 cruisers would take turns in pairs cycling their jammers and basically preventing me from doing diddly to them.
Finally got ****ed off and climbed into my legion, stuck some Hams on it, tanked it to hell and back, tossed an AB on it and went back and dealt with the mission that way. However, even with the legion, it took nearly 4 times longer to complete the mission than normal due to the nearly constant jamming. I'd have to be right on top of the rat to even target it (not so bad with Hams, but even so).
It wouldn't be 'quite' so bad if there were only 2-3 jammers. However, there are never just 2-3 jammers. Nearly every cruiser in that mission jams (and one spawn is 10 cruisers), and even some of the BS's jam. Was a hectic, incredibly frustrating time dealing with them.
Gonna have to rethink my fits to counter this, either that are bring my legion in and pull agro, then warp an alt in and kill them as needed. XD
Either way.. I'mma gonna keel theem! ----- ** ----- I thought I was real but found out I was just a forum troll |

Let me put it his way. If my target lock goes from 79km to being unable to target anything unless I am looking through their ships view ports. I'm being jammed. Doesn't matter WTF you call it. ----- ** ----- I thought I was real but found out I was just a forum troll |

It does if you expect an ECCM to have any effect on it.

I don't know if other people have mentioned this, but drones set to defensive and FoF missiles both do not require a target lock. In the case of drones you can even select targets to some degree, since medium drones prefer going after medium ships, etc. ---

Big difference, you aren't being jammed, you can still lock insanely close things. A sensor booster w/ range script nullifies the issue.

Now maybe it affects some players more than others, but this is just wrong IMO
Assuming the frigates have a jamming strength three, and judging from your Tengu modules, you were pretty much boned.
Looks like you had an 18 sensor strength which against four jamming rates (assuming jam strength of 3) means you'll be unjammed just under 50% of the time on average. If you had used the Dissolution Sequencer module instead, you would have had a sensor strength of 35 and would be unjammed 70% of the time.

If you're going up against Guristas jamming rats in a Caldari ship, bring ECCM or gravimetric sensor boosters. FoF missile would probably be good against jamming frigates too.
I will without a doubt try this, thank you stoicfaux for this information

This jamming is inane and really starting to make me regret opening my subscription again. Doing a mission as I type called cut-throat competition and am perma jammed, had to have someone warp in and help kill since I cant target anything. Using drones to do the mission may help but that is about as fun as getting a tooth pulled.

Just tried out some Gallente FW missions today and i'm inclined to agree with this thread. Now and then it's fine, but when you've got 5-6 NPCs taking turns jamming you, leaving you shut down perpetually, it gets old fast, especially while doing something as risky as FW missions.

I agree to with the posters. Guristas needs to be nerfed. The only reason I'm able to do Guristas missions with ease is because I dual box them, otherwise I'd probably be permajammed and dead too.
For the time being, if you have drone skills for T2 sentries and heavies, I'd recommend investing in a drone boat like the Dominix, Ishtar, Gila or even the Rattlesnake.

Agree. Tried Assault Guristas mission and was perma-jammed. Dropped the mission and got another Gurista mission in a short time. This time I've fitted 2x backup arrays instead of 2x heatsinks. Still was painful. I could tank the whole mission, but without 2x HS the DPS went down and I was still jammed quite often.
And tbh this is getting ridiculous. Faction fitted Paladin is unable to complete a mere lvl 4 mission? And please please stop that rubbish of "drone boats, T3 cruisers and alts". First of all, Marauders were made specifically for missions. The fact that pirate BS's outperform Marauders by a mile and a half is stupid. Pirate BS's are still T1 and don't require nearly as much training as Marauders do. By saying "use drone boats" you actually telling ppl to thrash their 800 mill (with moderate fit) ships because they were just rendered useless by almighty Guristas. Next time someone will propose to bring a carrier alt or friend to deal with those nasty Eliminators

CCP went too far with the 10 ton hammer on the nerfing.
I've been scanning out 3 null sec systems twice a day every day for almost 2 weeks. System A: no Anoms. No Grav, radar, Ladar, WH, None. System B: no Anoms. No Grav, radar, Ladar, WH, None. System C: 2 Grav Plex, the same ones, mined out 10 days ago. They dont despawn, they dont regen. No other anoms.
Belts are Guristas and they perma jam pretty much everything.
Een if you supported the nerfs, there is a gross overkill factor in play. To the point where it strikes me the nerf was a grudge nerf and that can only spell trouble.

I decided to create a new account and paid up for a months subscription. I was permajammed in a level 1 and having limited drone skills and limited patience after 10 minutes or more I quit. I petitioned that there was a problem with the jamming AI. It was acknowledged that the problem did exist and that it would be fixed. It wasn't and so now that account is abandoned and the $15/month revenue to Eve is lost. One may try to justify the action as trying to replicate in NPC's what players would do but the fact is when running a mission it's usually one against many so attempting to create NPC's that mirror the players would make missions impossible. I am hard pressed to understand the logic of CCP sometimes. It's as if they are trying to remove all the sophistication from this game, (eg. the ridiculous job lot that they have thrown all the agents into) and then grief its existing customers. I can only surmise that the brains of the organisation have left for greener pastures.

As a three day old noob I think this is a bit of a problem. Here's whats going on for us noobs.
Working on some level one missions for my agent. Flying around having fun and learning. Still early days doing easy things.
Then I make the mistake of accepting a level 1 gurista mission.
A single wave of 2 despoilers and 2 saboteurs jammed me to death. Still hadn't worked out the whole escape procedure then. Of course I've got nfi whats going on, cant target, why can't I target? Nothing in the tutorial bout jamming, a bit on scrambling and webbing. Message my friend, oh they're jamming me, just wait until I can target? Ok, I'll try again. Go back. Perma-jammed. Jump out before I die.
Starting to get frustrating. Research time. This guy says eccm works against npcs , that guy doesnt, that other guy over there said there's conclusive proof that it does, this fellow says it doesn't matter if it does or not because there's too many ships jamming you. Alrighty then. I'll give ecm a go anyway. Nope doesn't help. Ok what else. Oh apparently FoF missiles will work. Go back to Jita, train missiles, train FoF, sell that rocket launcher, good to go. Lets do this.
After running away firing FoF's and hoping they dont decide to lock onto a rock I took down two then jumped out and came back for the rest. One level 1 gurista mission done.
Welcome to EvE.

Rat jamming is buggered into a ****ed hat. I was perma-jammed so badly in a gurristas assault that I just sacked off the mission. Every Gurristas battleship now seems to be able to jam, as well as the elite cruisers. There are about ten BS in that final pocket, and they take turns. I swapped out three BCUs for gravi sensor arrays and it had absolutely no effect, but then it never used to before the patch either.
Jamming doesn't make a mission challenging, because they couldn't touch the tank and I was never in any danger of losing the ship. Instead, it was just ****ing anoying, and a level 4 mission that should have taken fifteen minutes took 45 minutes of my time before I gave up in digust.
Today, I ran a level 2 mission for a standings grind and spent most of that jammed as well. Again, it was never a challenge because I was using a decent ship for the sake of speed. If I'd been flying a T1 cruiser I'd have been shafted.

0/10 for you first off.
Second..confirming (again) that this is (still) a major topic in the help chat and does nothing but annoy people and kill new players off. It's ******ed and needs to be fixed. It in now way makes the mission harder for anyone who blasts through them..but it's a noob killer and if I were ccp this would be high on my list of things to do. You are looking to keep the new subs you get from all this shiney incarna stuff right?

This is bull****, i warped into a belt got jammed let my drones out. Figured they would ease up after a bit and i could kill them. 3 little frigates managed to jam me for at least 5 mins. I just gave up and warped to a different belt in the end total bull****. This is a .6 system lol since when should rats be able to jam for in excess of 5 mins straight think CCP is taking the ****
