Edited by: Caldrion Dosto on 17/04/2011 15:31:33 We had a lot of problems with that today in our roaming fleet.
17 out of 25 ships got EXE errors at same time when we where in an engagement, (14 died, before mass disco no losses).
Before that we had a fun fight on the way with NC. 10 min before that this happened to me and another fleet member when we tried to jump a gate.
So is this something we need to take into account now?, the new "desync" feature?
One error looked like this apparantly:
Faulting application path: C:EVEbinExeFile.exe Faulting module path: C:EVEbindestiny.dll Report Id: 422ea6f9-68fc-11e0-80c1-90e6baa865ea
EDIT: location where EXE error ocured G9D-XW (Venal)

YouŠll be surprised what answers you can get from DevŠs on forums, and yes petitions has been filled to, but i donŠt fancy waiting a week before i undock my ship, so here we go.

well here's an answer for you from someone who experienced similar event(s):
sometimes nodecrashes do that to your client. ---

Would be strange with a node crash that kicks only some people and two a node crashing for 100 people...

You're most likely thinking of a proxy which is having trouble, you connect to the 'edge' of eve to a proxy, from there you're instantiated and your character will be associated with a node which it is on, the node holds grids and services - if you're on the same grid with someone they will be dealing with the same node. Proxies quite often have trouble and it can go undiagnosed for many days, I've had quite a few of these drops/crashes lately myself, reports of half a fleet dropping (mostly Euros, but not all?) seem pretty common atm.
EVE handles client timeouts and disconnects very badly on the whole, often flat out crashing as I'd guess happened to you, this case seems to have become far more prominent in recent patches; In the past it would generally catch and restart the client.
