I am looking for any advive about the most valuable sites to look for and any tips people have picked up from there experiences.

Don't do it. You won't make any money and the instant you undock your ship will explode.

So, you honestly deserve a little trolling for this. C'mon, its exploration! Just go cruise sites, record what your doing (worth and all that) and go from there. I will tell you that exploration can be very lucrative (emphasis on CAN).
There are other ways, but I will let you explore those as well, lol -------------------------------------------------
Don't debate with morons. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience. |

Exploration will the same where ever you go , I am guessing you wanted specific systems to try? from my very limited experience it is just pot luck what you find, I am not qualified to say how profitable it is as I have only just decided to try it out myself but am not expecting miracles.
Look at the exploration resources thread in this section it makes for good reading if only some of the terms used are outdated ( old probing terms mainly ) I found http://explorationalmanac.blogspot.com/2010/06/preface.html to be a decent read.

The most valuable are probably hacking, archeology and hidden ded complexes.
Or you can use your skills for ninja salvaging.

In Amarr high-sec you'll be looking for Mul-Zatah Monastery (Blood Raider 4/10) or Sansha Command Relay (Sansha 3/10). Also, any Blood/Sansha Lookouts, Watches and Vigils you find. Personally I'll do Radars as well.
Ignore all drone sites (Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation, Chemical Yard, Dirty Site etc), ignore Magnetometric sites (terrible rewards in highsec).
Always salvage faction/commander rats: even if they drop no faction modules, you could still get T2 salvage worth 30+ million a unit.
In high-sec exploration, you want to blitz as many sites as fast as possible. Have a strong enough probing strength (Sisters launcher + probes, Gravity Capacitor rigs, Poteque implants, T3 ship with scanning subsystem ASAP) to find sites fast, warp in, hit the triggers, grab the loot, salvage that one wreck, get out.
For Mul-Zatah you'll want something that can snipe the structure in the second room (so you don't have to deal with 20+ batteries, 20+ neuting cruisers, 6 stasis towers), then bookmark the wreck, warp out, wait for despawn, warp in.
For Command Relay, pop all the frigs in first room (keep a key in your cargohold), then in second room kill the overseer, grab loot, get out.
Remember: rated DED plexes don't escalate, so as soon as you've killed and salvaged the overseer, move on and look for more sites.
For Lookout/Watch/Vigil, sometimes the faction spawn and the escalation trigger are different. No tips for you there *wink*
Remember to tank for EM/Thermal, do the same for damage. Sansha use tracking disruptors, and Blood Raiders use energy neutralizers.
Use http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ with the map set to Jumps/24hr so you can find quiet areas with less traffic. Also, http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/DED_Complex_List and http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Category:Complexes
