For too long now the proletariat masses have struggled under the foot of oppressive bourgeoisie supper capital fleets fielded by the likes of the PL oligarchs.
Peasants like me flying dreads are not able to attain an equal share of carnage on the battlefield when faced by the oppression of the wealthy elite pilots.
Now I ask you this my fellow eve brothers and sisters: is it right? Is it just? That although we peasants comprise the masses of EVE our puny dreadnaughts are no match for the super capital ships of the wealthy minority ruling classes.
I call for an almighty nerf of all motherships and titans in the name of Fidel Castro and his BFF Che Guevara it is time for a healthy does of eve socialism to bring capital ships down to the lowest common denominator!
My brothers and sisters, this post will no doubt be flamed. The very same oppressive, bourgeoisie, oligarchs that fly motherships and titans on mass also control the eve media. Do not fear these rich snobs, raise your voices and demand a nerf!

TL;DR Get a clue.
Dear CCP.
I try and try to compete with these 'oppressive bourgeoisie' people in zealots with my omen, but everytime i try to they keep beating me. Never mind that they spent nearly 32x the isk on the hull, and no doubt many magnitudes of time to be able to fly it and then fly it effectively, I am the 'proletariat masses' and because i got butthurt by something better than mine, i want it nerfed.
In all seriousnous, yes moms need looking at. But they only cost 8x more than a dread, 9x if you pimp fit them. Compared to a lot of other ship classes and sizes, that is a very small jump. And if you are in 0.0, the total cost shouldn't take more than a month for a mom.
These people have spent a lot of isk and a lot of training time to fly what they fly and to do it well, and it's only natural that people like this would want to group with others that have for security, ie. PL.
Because you are choosing not to dedicate yourself to making enough isk, risking that much isk, and then spending the time training for it does not mean that there shouldn't be a natural progression of ships. Such as, dram>T1 frig, HAC>cruiser, super>capital.

Still, imagine a correlating mixed fleet of 50 people, with cheap tackler frigs, dps BCs, logistiscs, even a carrier or two and then 1 in every 50 is an untouchable supercap that can shrug off the entirety of a matching gang (unless I'm mistaken). |

Cut the roid belt volume in half and adjust them such that 0.0 asteroids are heavy on the 'rare' minerals but light on trit forcing more transport between high and null sec (i.e. you would get 1.5x to 2x the trit if you mined in highsec and freightered it to 0.0 than just mining in 0.0 during that time).
Minerals become harder to get and moving a LOT more for pirate bait.
That means many of the ships become more expensive, exponentially based on their requirements. Expensive ships mean fewer of them, OR, people actually become annoyed losing them and protect them.
Anyway, I think nerfing the ships should've stopped a long time ago. Just a tweak here and there in supply chain could change their value and quantity in a single downtown.

When I read this humorous but pathetic plea, I could've only think of the quote from Winston Churchill;
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

A more effective (and easier to implement) improvement to capital ships as they are now would be to revamp dreadnoughts into more effective supercapital hunters. Additional high slots and a boost to damage against supercarriers and titans. Perhaps the addition of a dreadnought usable capital grade infinite point warp scrambling module similar to heavy interdictors would shake the tree a little. No bubble, mind you, just a single target mode.
This would keep dreads out of the world of subcapitals by virtue of the inability to lock onto smaller ships in anything less than geological timescales, while making them a worthwhile consideration for hotdrop ops on hostile capitals. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

Edited by: bartos100 on 22/04/2011 15:49:06 all those that say buff the dread to counter the SC remember it takes 1 SC 2 min to **** a 10 man dread fleet in siege
i understand that a SC is way more expensive(20bil) then a dread(1.5bil)
and a SC was meant to be a capital ship destroyer (works well :)
but the fact that a SC can kill any subcap fleet as well is just plain stupid
ps: all those that say "another nerf the SC thread" can you tell me if you fly one or not cause if you fly one you just don't want your solo pwn mobile to be nerfed

lol.
It should be exactly the opposite mate.
A Dread, should be exactly that.
One dread should be able to sit on a POS and start tearing it apart, oblivious to POS weaponry.
Obviously, with specialised ships, it would be possible to un-siege the ship and send the pilot bacfk to the cloning bay.
Just saying

Edited by: Ruban Retail on 28/04/2011 17:55:01 Leave the SCs alone. Just make my Dread more flexible instead. Give me a siege module that takes scripts. An offensive scriopt that gives me less damage in exchange for half the siege time (and drawbacks) so I can use it against subcap fleets. No script for the vanilla dread experience. And a defensive script that will make me so stationary that passing pilots will assume iÆm a POS module but will let me tear holes in any SC.

no he means that 1 in 15 players (not accounts) actually fly's a suppercap as in having one with a pilot in it ready to fight (altho some of the fits on killboards do make me think if all of those pilots are combat ready )

Its not that supercarriers need to be nerfed (cause they are the problem atm). They require a ****load of isk and skilling, so the ones who fly them deserve a good ship.
Instead dreadnaughts need a boost so they they become excellent cap and POS killers (and only good for that purpose).

Edited by: Demolishar on 30/04/2011 11:48:42 Yeah, Dreads need to have:
Much smaller sig (very resistant to fighter bombers, but still hittable by "Normal" guns cause they're in Siege and at 0m/s although I guess the Phoenix becomes even more useless oh well. Maybe make the siege module give a sig reduction to Battleship levels.
Make a HWC - Heavy Web Cruiser. Give it a web that works on super caps, but not a web bubble that's just stupid. Then the Dreads can hit the slowly moving Supers. Or just take away the "Immune To All EWar" from the supercarriers.
In fact forget the HWC, just make a second interdiction module that can fit on a HIC.

Do the stasis webification towers in missions still exist? They used to project a stasis bubble around them (but it's been a long time since I've touched a mission). The interdiction module could make a webbing bubble like suggested above, which would be a great idea. Make it really difficult to fit both the bubbles at the same time and you've got your balance.
