Every belt in my high-sec mining system has an AFK tempest.
After everything CCP has done to stop AFK cloaking I'd expect a solution soon.
Mining has lost the euphoria it used to have.
EVE should log people out after five minutes of inactivity.

These are just getting worse, not even a semblance of effort -2/10

CCP should stop you starting useless threads. That would be much more productive.

Not only is the OP right, but he left something out... the more AFK they are, the more DANGEROUS they are! When the afk person leaves his house to go to work, it's like having TWO afk tempests who's players are taking a shower! It's crazy.
He actually said high sec, didn't he?

Edited by: Tom Gerard on 20/04/2011 16:59:31 Its all fun and games to you. Try being accused of being a macro every 5 minutes and losing a retriever evey other week to some misguided suicide ganker.
Hint macro miners don't use t2 drones and dont skip the crap roids.

Tom, these Tempests are for your security. They do not out-mine a Hulk. It is all good. --

Hint: suicide gankers don't care if you are AFK or not.
Who are you to say that the suicide ganker is misguided?

You need to think about switching systems. I've never seen an AFK Tempest in a belt and I have mined 5 regions in a Hulk, sec 1.0 to sec .5 |

Edited by: Whitehound on 20/04/2011 18:11:19 If it really bothers you, which I doubt, then you can try this. It is nerdy:
- Scan the Tempests. - Get some new Tempests plus gear as seen on the scanner. - Set up sell orders for the Tempests and their gear in the very system. - Get an unrigged and insured Retriever and pretend to be a macro or a broken macro. - Wait ...
If they bite will you be able to sell a few Tempests and make a little profit. They will not be doing it for long however. I doubt that you will be able to get rid of more than 2-3 Tempests at best. --

Why stop at logging off people after 5 minutes? Go further!
Have a constant stream of quicktime events which the player must fulfill ALL THE TIME, or else the player will be logged off. It's just like real life! If one person were to pilot a huge spaceship, they'd need to be pressing a lot of buttons!
