Edited by: Crowlin Gallanus on 20/04/2011 17:15:40 Well I guess the first thing to mention is the fact that the gameplay slows to an utter crawl in CQ, but that I'm sure is something that will be worked on by the time it is released in TQ.
Well let's start with the character creation where after choosing a bloodline and entering the character molder, I attempted to go back and change bloodlines only to find out that the option to select a gender as well as the title for the bloodlines have disappeared.
After arriving in CQ for the first time the phrase "warp-drive active" played about four times seemingly both randomly as well as triggered by opening panels such as the items hangar.
In an attempt to speed up the client, I pressed esc and lowered the graphics settings from high to low only to have the client crash as they were being implemented. (client restart required)
After logging back into the game and re-entering CQ, I received an insurance mail offering condolences for the loss of my non-existent ship and provided me with the usual starter stuff (Imparior, 1 trit, etc).
After proceeding through the new tutorial, which was good and informative (nice job on that), I attempted to zoom in and out on my character only to have my client enter a black screen with the UI overlayed. This occured twice. (client restart required)
Next issue is that walking in CQ is unbearably and tediously slow, is very jittery, and appears as if my character is walking on one leg and dragging the other behind him.
Facial hair does not appear to load at all in CQ right now.
Depending on the zoom amount and the camera position (this occurred for me out on the ship observation balcony), the camera's zoom will spasm continuously very far out to very close in until moved.
Finally, stop having the guy scratch the back of his head every minute. I realize the realism factor is important, but once or twice an hour should be more than enough. He's bald, he doesn't have dandruff.
Oh yes, there does appear to be an invisible wall next to the sofa on the side closest to the hangar that prevents me from walking away from the couch (between it and the table).

One thing I found was when I wanted to access my fuelbay (on a Dread)from the fitting window it was sadly missing. Dronebay and normal cargohold was there as usual. Since I couldnt right click on the ship from the hangar bridge I was abit stuck with the options in the fitting window.

Edited by: Deviana Sevidon on 20/04/2011 19:12:17 The movement controls of WASD feel a bit awkward.
I would appreciate changes, so that camera movement does affect the direction of the character moving, I would like to be able to move the camera by rightclicking, while continuing to move with WASD. For someone used to the controls of most MMO with third party camera on their char as well as single-player games, the controls and camera are feeling quite unnatural at the moment.

I've also noticed very notable facial distortions while 'sitting' on the couch especially in terms of nose/mouth/chin spacing
The character didn't sit on the couch, just squatted in front of it.
I'm not sure if it's specific to ni-kunni/amarr yet.
Camera and interaction controls locked out after using the character recustomization. Movement still worked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twylla DeVarii

If you walk over the side of the top step leading into the Inner room you can go over the railing and below the walkway. Then if you bounce through the collision walls at the front you can go over the edge and begin an endless fall into the depths of the station. |

It'd be nice to have holding L+R mouse buttons work for zooming, in addition to the scrollwheel, or at least the option to have key bindings. This is what I've mainly used for zooming in space/in original station environment, and having it in the CQ would keep the UI more consistent.
Overall, I'm really liking what I'm seeing! However, this is clearly a very early build. The potential is really great. (But when has that ever not been the case with EVE?)

Edited by: Johnny Vato on 20/04/2011 22:41:47 If you are in the CQ and you go to Character Customization, then cancel the Customization, the CQ interface no longer responds to mouse zoom and pan commands.

Edited by: Exie on 20/04/2011 23:16:48 If you go from CQ to Planetary interaction from the right view screen. Then use the red X to leave PI. The CQ does not load again. Just leaves the background where the planet was. I undocked to see if that would fix it, but it just loaded the camera where the deck would be, but did not load any of the CQ environment. I relogged, and that has not fixed CQ not loading E...

For the new player experience I know that a lot of people will just skip the text messages. A solution might be to use the big screen in the middle of the captains quarter to display short tutorial videos on what a new character can and should do. Maybe a few short informative videos, but also a bit funny, so that the players would want to watch the videos in full.

Everything seems to be working fine for me.
Though, one thing I would like added or at least optional is the ability to swivel the camera around the character with the "q" and "e" keys, or have the character and camera turn with each other. --- The ≡v≡ Online Forums: where all the kiddies go to whine.

Edited by: Lilibeth Suko on 21/04/2011 00:23:14 If your character is female, when she sits in front of the couch, her shoulders become huge and her right breast flattens.
Going into Planetary mode and then exiting planetary mode leaves me with the starfield and no more CQ.
If you sit on the couch and open the ships fitting by the little thing on the coffee table, the male character will turn and his leg will be inside the couch.
I'll add more later, but this is very cool, I can't wait to see the other races quarters.

No problems with sitting with my main. Although I wasn't able to even use the couch as my Mini character. Another thing that would be nice is being able to hold down shift to run. Any other bugs I've found have been covered in earlier posts. Granted this is pretty alpha right now o say the least. But seems to be going in the right direction.

Oh one thing that did kinda bother me now that I think about it. When on the walkway thingy looking at your ship. I understand that the station environments are HUGE I get that. But every ship under a cruiser looks so tiny, to the point that the first time I went out there I didn't even realize that my ship was there since I was in a frigate.

I dont think they want a run mode, since people dont exactly run in their apartments.

I would also like my ship to be closer to the balcony. I want to have a sense of scale between my ship and my character that I can't get with the dock being that far away.

I run in my apartment. It's just quicker to get around. Scares the crap outta the cats as well.
