Its a notable boon for frigate addicted pilots like myself.
"But Tom when the **** would I care?"
Dual Medium Neut hurricane will slam your cap only way to hold tackle is a small NOS.
"No **** I have been playing this game for over a week, I still don't know why the **** I would train AB5,"
its all about cycles AB5 makes it easy to get your tackle and propulsion on different NOS cycles.
"Oh okay. Why the **** didn't you just say that. "
Because not everyone is a combat veteran.

Anything that isn't dual prop benefits from AB 5.
Anything that is dual prop suffers from AB 5.
That wasn't so hard, now was it. |

Ok, this also is a concept I don't understand. The way I use my dual prop fits, I never find myself waiting for the AB to finish.
I approach the target with WMD and switch to AB when scrammed or at my desired orbit. I turn on my NOS and start killing drones, this is generally it
The target dies or I do. Only time I could ever forsee waiting for the AB to finish its cycle is after the target is dead, and usually in that case I am looking to dock at a staton to repair my armor and or shields. So I'd be warping off rather than burning anywhere.
MAYBE... if the fight ended in the middle of a bubble. MAYBE then I could lose my ship in the time it takes my AB to cycle off.
But in general the whole concept is a minor issue.

Unfortunately most of EVE plays under the mindset of: Either I'm obviously going to win this fight or I'm going to run as quickly as possible. In that case, you want to be able to switch back to MWD as quickly as possible.

It just was not your day, Tom. Next time you will be his girl, you will see. Once you get used to it will you be his girl every single time. Just suck on his cap like he wants you to. You will be fine. --

AB 5 is all that's keeping me from the elite High-Speed Helmsman cert, and I still feel reluctant to train it.

Edited by: Drykor on 25/04/2011 21:55:56 Not even sure how anyone could argue for training this skill, especially not when he flies dual propulsion. There is hardly any benefit to training it, it will not make the difference when getting neuted, in fact afterburner IV might even get you another cycle when being neuted while just using afterburner, 'cause the second cycle will kick in earlier, i.e. before getting neuted out. But it won't help you with running another cycle while you're being neuted, it's mostly luck whether you can run another in between neut cycles and if they stagger their neuts, the odds are pretty low. So I guess the only benefit is when you get neuted dry on first cycle, you will run your ab slightly longer that one cycle. Meh.
I'd much rather have the option of swapping from ab to microwarpdrive faster, after killing someone and having to make range from his buddies that already landed, or while fighting without being scrambled and then having to run or make more range.

Same here (almost), I'm doing Fuel Conservation V in about a week. Not doing AB V though, even though it would finish up my navigation tree quite nicely in about a month.
