***********NEWS FLASH*************** ****NEW EDEN SAVINGS OPEN FOR BUSINESS**** We are proud to announce the opening of New Eden Savings an Eve Bank.
What makes New Eden Savings different than other banks in Eve. New Eden Savings is run by real life Bankers. My two partners and I are all Bankers in real life working for the one of the largest banks in North America. After looking at several banks in the eve universe we realized that a legitimate bank could be run if done properly. After months of preparation we have come up with a model that mimics banking throughout the world.
Banks make money by taking the money deposited and investing it either through lending it out to other individuals or by investing the money in the various markets throughout the world. Since Eve does not offer any type of stable investing options via stocks and bonds we will be doing this through commodities trading. i.e. the market. We will buy and sell items with a portion of the investments thus generating profits. These profits are what will pay out the interest to the pilots. We will of course keep the excess profits above the interest payments as a hedge against future months and as salary to us and expenses. This is the only way a legitimate bank work.
We are offering several interest bearing accounts that should cover all types of players and corporations in the game. As well as several lending options.
The first is our basic interest bearing checking account. It offers a 1% monthly interest rate, and unlimited transactions with no minimum withdrawal amount.
The second is our Pod Savers Account which offers a 3% monthly interest rate and up to 5 free withdrawals per month. After the 5 withdrawals you will pay a 10% charge of the withdrawal amount for the 6th through 10th withdrawal and a 20% charge for any withdrawals after the 10th.
We are also offering array of CDÆs.
2 month CD at 3.5% per month 3 Month CD at 4.5% per month 6 Month CD at 6% per month 1 Year CD at 10% per month
CDÆs have a minimum deposit 25,000,000 isk. They will rollover automatically at the end of the term you will have 10 days to notify us at maturity if you choose to withdraw or add to it. In the event of early withdrawal you will forfeit all interest on the account and be assessed a 20% penalty of the principal balance.
Loans:
All Loans will be collateralized with an 80% Loan to Value (LTV) of the item collateralized. Terms will be negotiated at that time based on the amount, length of the loan and the collateral given. The base price of the item will be assessed by the average price of the item per Eve Market Central. All Collateral items must be contracted at the station of our choosing and the collateral and loan will be done through contracts via in game. Upon final payment of the loan the item will be contracted back to the owner. All Ships must have the full name of the owner on the ship. There will be a 10% late payment penalty for each payment you are late beyond the 3 day grace period. This will be assessed at the end of the loan of loan to get your collateral back.
You will be given a 6 digit account number based on the type of account you have. All deposits and withdrawals must be done through in game contracts to New Eden Savings. Please note in the contract your account number. If you are opening a new account please state what type of account you would like to open in the contract and an account number will be emailed directly to you. All transactions have a 24 hour turn around time. All interest will be credited monthly on either the 15th or the 30th of the month. Based on what account you have. At that time you will receive a statement within 72 hours showing your transactions, interest credited and your balances via in game.
If you have any questions please email Saturn Moon, Thaddious Riker or Legion Lennelluctic or visit us as New Eden Savings Branch chat channel.

New Eden Savings FAQ Guide
How do I open an account?
Set up a contract in game to New Eden Savings. List what type of account you want an account number with your opening balance will be mailed to you in game.
Can I use a Capital Ship for collateral on a loan and what value do you use?
Yes you may use capital ships for collateral however we do not accept super capitals as collateral and they must be docked in the station of our choosing. The value of the capital ship will be negotiated with the terms based upon rigging and fittings if they have them.
Where does my money go on deposit?
It goes into the various wallets per account on the corporate wallet. A portion of the funds may be used to generate loans as well as be used on the market.
How can I access my Money?
You may access your funds by sending a contract via game requesting the amount. Please state what account number you want the funds drawn on.
If I take out a loan using my ship as collateral and can not pay you back on time what happens?
After your 3 day grace period you will be assessed a 10% penalty on the remaining balance owed. At the end of the loan you will get your ship back via contract with any late payment fees owed due at that time. If you miss 3 payments after the third payment your loan will be in default and your ship will be sold to recoup the loss.
I submitted a contract for withdrawal 6 hours ago and have not received the funds?
Please allow up to 24 hours to receive the funds.
How does New Eden Savings make money on this? WhatÆs in it for you?
We make money buy using your funds to loan out and to invest in items in the market, buy buying low and selling high. We can do this easily as we do not need to make much more than the returns we are offering. We make money on the spread of what is earned to what is paid out in interest. For example if we have 2 billion isk in savings earning 3% and buy and sell minerals making 5% profit only we keep the remaining 2%. A portion of that goes to Corporate general wallet to protect us as a hedge against any low profit months and the rest is paid out to us as salary.
What makes this different than any other bank in Eve?
Banks in Eve are based on a pyramid scheme, similar to Bernie Madoff the interest received is based solely on paper and not actually real. The banks rely upon more people depositing in the bank to pay out those that need to withdraw. New Eden Savings is basing its interest payments on actually earned isk similar to a real life bank. Therefore the gains are real and the funds are available. Also we are making isk off of your deposits through the investment spread so we donÆt need to take your isk.
What experience do you have in banking?
As I stated we are all bankers in real life and have over 25 years of banking experience between us, from investment banking to retail banking and lending.
If you do this for a living why do you want to do it in Eve?
The idea was started one day over lunch as to how we could make a bank work in Eve. After several discussions it was decided that it could be done and the structure was developed. Many of us wish we could make our skills in Eve work for us in real life we just decided to make our real life skills work for us in Eve.
If I have a question or want more information that can I talk to?
You can contact Saturn Moon, Thaddious Riker or Legion Lennelluctic.

Not another one. Haven't you people noticed that the general discussion section will out you every time? Not to mention this is the wrong forum section to start with.
3/10 though because it's well prepared.

Edited by: HeIIfire11 on 27/04/2011 22:16:57 It is well thought out though. Although I don't know chribba I'll say if something like this were to come from him I might invest a bit and see where it goes.
Other than that it's just not worth it.
To clear it up a bit I'd trust chribba due to his reputation.

One of his "friends" couldn't even be hassled to JOIN the scam corp... what does that say about the months of prep?
Pro-tip? Next time start it with four friends so at least it 'looks' like you fooled some other person into joining your scam, rather than just using a single random account.

//EDIT: I actually thought about this for a second. How the *^ can you be a real banker and not know the difference between a Ponzi scheme and a Pyramid scheme? At least pretend to know what you're talking about. FAIL...

Edited by: TalonClark on 27/04/2011 23:22:29 Just one question: what in the world makes you think announcing beeing a RL banker makes you somewhat a "desirable entity" for me to give you my money? No really? Didnt you pay attention the last few years?
If i have a choice i will give it to the monkey that throws darts at a board and gets better scores on predictions than bankers since 10 years.

We understand the skeptics out there - we understand what has happened to the eve community in the past. But we are trying to put into practice our real life experience into the game. I have been in eve myself for 3 years. Now I'm sure the question will come about, "why isn't your main in the Corp?". Simply put I see it as work and don't want to be contact on my main, I think this is a reasonable desire.
With no account minimums, open a small account if you feel untrusting of the situation and we will prove to you that we are legit and are here to serve the eve community.

Ok, who is your main? is he/she anyone that could be trusted, I think at very least if your asking the eve community to trust you, you shouldn't use a noob alt to represent you, what do you have to lose but the name of a throwaway alt? TS3 and TS2 servers for rent, order here |

Then pick a trusted third party to act as the FDIC for your bank, and deposit an equal amount of isk to the isk you will be borrowing from clients, and your full api's for all pilots and accounts involved in this. That is the only way you will ever get up off the ground without comming into MD slowly and making a name for yourself, not that I think it would help at this point considering how many banks have failed. I mean why would anyone in this game even need a bank in the first place? It's not like you can accidentally leave your wallet in a jetcan.
Well, Saturn Moon, I hope you enjoy all the ISK you get sent by morons.

EVE banks will never have even a slim chance of working unless CCP put in some kind of player run banking mechanics, even then it'll all go to hell eventually.. as we've witnessed with real banks.
