Im thinking of camping a jumpbridge.
Besides bombers, what funny ships would be recomended for a JB camp? We have alts in dicters w cloak.
Can HAC's nail decent sized ships before tower aggres?

[troll mode on] just curious. why every newbee tries to go to sov 0.0 to attack people there?
maybe instead of wasting time you skip this step and go to the next: "remove JBs from sov 0.0"? [troll mode off]

Edited by: Kylote Nine on 28/04/2011 14:45:22 Edited by: Kylote Nine on 28/04/2011 14:44:08 In my experience, small guns can lock an AB bomber (hound w/ medium MSE and polycarb rigs) in 7 seconds (tested on sisi and TQ). There was tremendous variety in this mind you, but this was the fastest it ever locked me. Sig radius and sig res numbers suggest it should take 46 seconds, but it varied anywhere from over 2 minutes to 7 seconds. GJ CCP. But basically you need to plan for worst case.
7 seconds generally isn't enough time to kill anything, so you need to be able to speed tank the guns. This is best done in an AB bomber or an MWD ceptor. The more you have in gang the better, pos aggro is spread a bit.
The AB bomber dies (quickly) when the webber gets hold of it, which takes just under 30 seconds (this was more consistent than the gun lock times). The inty can handle a single web, but dies when the second webber gets hold of it.
Large and med guns are irrelevant to a bomber or inty as long as you are moving.
I've not tested it, but I reckon an AB HAC could manage nicely as long as there wasn't a webber. If there was, I'd not go near it.
If you have a gang with multiple points or a bubbler, get the JB pos password, and slip inside the shields to break the tower lock and slip out again afterwards, it works very well.
Remember, tracking is measured from the tower itself, not the guns, so don't try to tightly orbit the guns, this reduces transversal from the tower. It's best to manually move straight up and down, relative to the tower itself.

also hictor and dictor bubbles work as long as they are on grid to the POS, you can get awesome kills with a cloaky sabre and not get bothered by the guns, same applies to your gang they can be in safe and warp to bubble.
There is some effort involved but you can be on grid to any POS and out of range of the guns etc.

DOnt think you can ever get out of range of large / xl arty.
But then, if you are in a small ship, large/xl arty isnt a problem.

You can, large arty only reaches around 300+327km.

Is it possible to extend the grid by using jettisoned cans, and placing a cloaked dictor outside the POS modules activiation proximity. Then catching those warping to/from the most used stargates/station and to/from the Jump bridge ? For a Stasis web battery that would be 300km, but 150km optimal. For a small artillery battery and medium AC's its 330km. Or will a bubble that far out not catch them ?

Anchored bubbles will not, hictor and dictor bubbles will.

2 bombers, one uncloaking firing 3 torpedoes. coking, the other uncloaking, the other one cloaking again, and so forth. 6 sec and 6 sec, the time it takes to cloak uncloak. Real nasty, later.

Manipulating grids has been a bannable offense since the goons released their info on it.

Pretty sure around 100km from the warpin is the maximum a bubble can catch However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

That's only for anchored bubbles. Hictor and dictor bubbles can pull from 1200km at least (that's as far as I tested it), although you obviously need a little bit of grid-fu to remain on-grid with the tower.
