I recently got Nvidia's "3D Vision" s3D package so I've been looking at EVE's support for s3D and I've been a bit disappointed. I haven't really got it to work at all yet.
Does anyone else out there want to play Eve in stereoscopic 3D? Should CCP burn up some man hours to make stereoscopic 3D a valuable addition to the game?

This basic idea has been suggested and discussed a number of times. Basically there does not seam to be that much interest. Also there are a number of health issues* with long term 3D vision systems, give that most eve players spend several hours at a time playing.
You may want to look at the older threads to see the discussions.
Till the health issues are either confirmed as a myth or they are resolved I think CCP should be very careful with 3D.

Most of the time you look on icons and overview, looking at your ship from different angles pretty much makes sense only in PvE. So what's the point?

No. Mainly because that's something that should happen on a driver level, not something the game should do. If the game has to do anything, the solution has no future.
At most, they should make sure that 2D elements get a z value so the overlays and windows sit in the right place, but that has less to do with stereoscopic view and more to do with creating a more unified display system (and it certainly has nothing to do with some hair-brained vendor-specific solution).
As it is, and completely unsurprisingly, EVE already supports stereoscopic 3D for all its 3D elements. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Well, how about with the incarna expansion then? S3D would add depth (pardon the pun) to the holo-displays and whatnot in the CQ. I also agree with the post above about how most/all of the work should be done at the driver level, and that CCP should draw the icons at the right depth. Thanks for your comments.

3D doesn't work very well in eve type environments. A lot of the time, the stuff you are looking at is divided into two catagories:
1. Your ship, right up close 2. Everything else, 20+km away.
20km away is well and truly into the infinate focus range (same focus gets you 20km or 50km), which means the 3d you see would be your ship hanging in space and nothing else.
