I'm guessing all those who have said they were going to rage quit if ccp didn't do anything are now quit? Perhaps that's why the thread has run its course? Really, the few that were keeping it going were down to analyzing market data and frivolously making determinations about price direction in an attempt to discern CCP's effectiveness.

I'm surprised the guts that macro users have though, aren't they afraid of losing their accounts? I could understand the isk RMT sellers not caring but why would casual macro users even bother? Isk is easy enough to earn if you play legit. And even if you're having a hard time getting by it adds a little bit of a challenge that teaches you to be frugal.
But I think the policy in place is appropriate enough to deter casual macro users without them losing their accounts on the first offense.

I'd think the reason they would do it was so that they can play the game for free via PLEX without having to put the time in themselves.

I suppose that's true, but honestly if they can't afford the PLEX in-game, $15 really isn't a bad price for a well developed game.

You get the idea.

Quote: I can guarantee you highsec botting causes more damage to the economy than nullsec ever will.
While it might seem so at first blush, this is not the case. Ratting bots in null sec are far more lucurative than empire mining bots, and funnel huge amounts of isk directly into the economy. Enabling super cap mass production lines is also not a good thing.

The item you chose to use as an example is fairly useless, not because it's t1 but because t2 cargoholds are cheap enough and the training required to use t2 is easy and quick to obtain. But that's not true of all t1 items.

Noticed how long it takes to mine the minerals for an Expanded Cargohold in a Hulk? (not including transporting and lowsec ore requirements, etc) Without doing the math, I'm fairly certain it's not a lot of time.

The issue of "Witch hunts" has been mentioned in this thread and probably many others.
I currently wish to stay out of the macro/bot debates, but I would like to know the methods by which someone is judged to be using macros. I tend to read (about eve usually) in the browser while mining when I'm in high sec. I use bookmarks to warp right back to where I left off, and simply repeat the process over and over. How then do I keep myself from being accused of using macros? We all need to build up isk, and not everyone can fly T3/T4 (or wants to yet), so mining is a way to, slowly, build up isk while you train for other more lucrative skills. So how do you avoid being tagged as a bot?

Just keep doing what you are doing. While people may keep an eye on you if your normal activity is "bot like", that will not get you banned. CCP looks at other criteria, including how bots interact with the EVE code. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

Personally i don't care how often you use macros, using them is against the rules, its cheating, hence you should be banned.

Simple answer is you don't.
A lot of people don't really have an idea of what a bot really is so the normal mining from bookmark to station and back can seem like bot behaviour to someone who does not really know. I used to get asked on occassions when I used to mine if I was a bot or not, for mining the way you do. Don't worry about it, I doubt CCP will act just on hear-say.
