So in general, what do you do to chillout in EVE?
I find mining very relaxing obviously, how about you? (yes I know the tears makes you relaxed but what else...)

Chatting online while watching star trek (original/tng), or big bang theory or house episodes on the other screen, with the occasional browsing on the web for science news.

Depends, if I'm in high-sec I might bimble through a few missions while watching a film. If I'm down in null-sec I'll probably just sit in something cloaky and chat to corpies over vent. There are two sides to the EVE community; those that scream for change and those that scream against it. Often they are the same person. |

What's the point of fasting if you're only going to do it for 2 minutes?

Roaming wormholes randomly (with chatboxes minimised/blink off) is pretty chill. 0.0 ninja sec ratting in something cloaky can be pretty relaxing too, it's less relaxing if you need to log off to go afk

Ship fitting. I do find it relaxing fitting modules in all kinds of combinations to get the best out of a ship either in general or in a nichT setting.

What I used to do was go to random Newbie systems (Chaven, mostly) and randomly convo some newbs to see hwo they saw eve and, if required, pass on some gems of knowledge. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Find random things to do (cosmos, epic arcs, FW are lates), I try and do as many different things as possible. And if they don't already have good guides I try to write guides for them on evelopedia. Also like to read through evelopedia reading random articles and stuff, try to find out as many things as I can about the game
Or just stare at this image from the header of evelopedia. For some reason the fact that evelopedia says it's still in beta brings me some perverse amusement no matter how long I stare at it. ------------------- piccy |

I either chat to buddies ingame or shoot, i don't tend to bother with much else, although i do find buying a new ship and fitting it to be nice and enjoyable.

My main is a full time PVP'er so I'll post with this alt to protect his reputation, LOL.
For chilling out I like mining ops, plexing with one or two corp mates or POS bashing with relaxed comms and an FC that will say something like, "who wants to sing us a song". :)))
I also like to make long solo roams through low-sec in something like a blackbird with comms turned off and all the chat screens minimized. I just write, "afk 66 jumps" in corp chat and if someone really urgently needs me then they know they have to convo me :)
Of course you eventually lose the blackbird but they're dirt cheap and I've made some hysterical kills on those solo roams.
Those are all activities that don't require a lot of mental effort and they're a nice break from the gogogo and constant demands for attention that dominates much of my eve time.

I oddly enough find flying around very relaxing. I mean 20-30 jumps or more. In a freighter.
I just hate it when I mis hit the autopilot and I land 15 K away from the next stargate.

I warp around high sec belts and loot rat wrecks from under the noses of miners. Most of them don't even seem to notice/care.
Mostly it's junk, but very occasionally you get a commander wreck that some macro left behind. Once I found a Cruor blueprint in a miner's wreck. Sold that for 80 million.

I hop into a covops frigate and head out probing. I don't care what's out there, it's just the process that I find quite soothing. All those big glowy spheres and the quiet noises of probes doing their analysis worką -- [Aussie players: join ANZAC channel] |
