As I cannot be on EvE 23/7, having to deal with real life instead, there's only so much time I get to spend on EvE. It would be nice if during that time I had the opportunity to participate in the game doing the things I enjoy without undue hardship or difficulty. Toward that end, I have a simple favor to ask the carebears of the game:
Could you guys make it a little easier to pirate you??
I spend all my time hunting you down, looking for those of you dropping cans into space. I steal them, I blow up your ore....and the best I get is maybe one or two in the day that passive-aggressively target me.
I don't know if you guys realize just how tough it is to pirate these days. You sit there in peace mining away, it's all handed right to you! Look on the overview: "System VIIwhatnot - Asteroid Belt 1" -> warp to, target Veld....watch it melt.
I on the other hand have to hunt around for my targets. I have to slip into a system, activate my scanner....look for cargo containers....they're not instantly pointed out to me....WARP HERE FOR CAN TO FLIP!!! I have to find them.
After all my hard work and effort I'd think you'd have the modicum of decency to at least try to steal it back, if not fly into a rage and spew venom in local. Yet how often do you miners have the decency to provide me with the thrill of blowing you up?? Not very I have to unfortunately say.
With all the tears this forum has gathered I'd expect a whole universe filled with plump, ripe miners just waiting to be harvested. Truth of the matter is that the resource has apparently become quite scarce indeed. Only 1 in 10 system seems to have anyone even mining in it. Of those only about 1 in 3 have someone jet-canning. Of those, only about 1 in 50 or more will steal it back when you flip.
Perhaps I'm just doing it wrong, but I've been all through New Eden flipping just about every can I see (those that have lots of local friends of course get a free pass). Hours of valuable EvE playtime lost because you guys just won't let me have my fun!!! Is this really a respectable way to play the game?? I ask you, can't we all just get along??

Seems as though either the pirates have run all the miners out of low sec or they are just getting better tactics or practices from getting pirated. Just got to keep developing new strategies to the game thats what keeps it interesting. Along the lines of hunting down the miners, that's what the role of being a pirate is trying to find your prey unfortuantely you don't get a list of their stops unless of course you have a spy in their corp hehehe

The answer is really quite simple. We should have a community organised event where all miners agree to jet can and steal back the ore, just for one day. We'll compile a list of known jet-can miners, award prizes and incentives to drop as many full cans of ore as possible and let the carnage ensue!
Totally feasible and should be great fun too!

Maybe take a break from Eve and spend the day snatching the purses from little old ladies. It does not take much tank to survive beating from umbrella.

Edited by: Ikka Sunto on 08/05/2011 18:17:04 Meh, use a covops stealth bomber. Makes it hilarious when they try to put something into their "can" that you flipped, then just move something around and you get aggro and pop their nice new covetor/retriever. Its fun and you can wrack up a lot of ore if you have a hauler. Or, do what I do when I'm just looking to steal, from newbs that you can get banned for griefing for example, and use the covops to bookmark the cans. Then warp to 0 with your hauler (1 warp stab just in case) and steal their ore right out from under their noses.

This thread should have been called "I suck at being a bully" and should have had something like " How can I get a noob agressed so I can blow up his defenseless mining ship cause I can't do anything else".. rofl

Most the times when I steal from them in my Battle bessie, they don't do anything. Kinda makes me wonder if they are bots or not..... But I don't have the info to tell, maybe they just are afraid of industrial ships.
And yeah, I wouldn't bother stealing from total noobs, CCP does from on can baiting noobs, and it doesn't help anyone out, that veldpar mined with that bantam isn't gonna be worth much anyway, but the way I see it, by the time you are in a barge you are no longer a noob.

I like to think I improved his day.

Well one reason there are less cans floating around in belts is because if a miner is smart he/she joins a corp and has Orca support. I know the only time I mine is for a corp operation to fuel our manufacturing so we can replace ships I inevitably lose, or others lose, and it is always in an Orca with 3-5 Hulks. Lets face it, the noobs are getting smarter and beginning to team up early on.
I do feel ya though. While I'm not the greatest pvper out there I do enjoy a good fight, but so many noobs seem to totally shy away from it. You can tell this by all the posts crying about ... HELP I was ganked and lost my ship and its not fair! Trust me, these infantile posts make me laugh as well since they obviously didn't understand Eve when they began playing.
Try this, put ur own can out as bait and sit and wait for someone to touch it, once they do let the carnage begin. Have a corp mate get out there in a little tormentor or the like and bait with a can. Someone will eventually come along and flip it so you can still blow someone to space dust. Bating is fun as well!

Hmm...so noob miners don't seem eager to fight you in some .8 Veldspar belt? You could grow a set, come out to low-sec where you will get an actual good fight, and try your hand at some real PvP instead of griefing noobs.

Posting in a stealth ban moar mining bots thread.
On the other hand though... yes, I'll gladly come out to lowsec in my mining laser fit marauder without tank and sit at a belt dropping cans in space until you find me.

You're missing his point. He's an indy who doesn't shy from a fight when one is brought to him. Not to be criticised tbh, wish there were more like that.

Well, from what I've seen lately, there's a healthy diet of jet can miners from Akinaivas to Jouvelen (mispells). I see'em all the time... Try there. Oh, and if you're not willing to risk fiendlies in local, u don't deserve a fight. Most Carebears won't even bother unless they think they have a good shot at killing you. On the positive, they are mostly fail fit... If u want more fun, u have to take more risks... That's just the way Eve is. /

Wow - I came back to Eve after a year and I'm amazed to see that there are still people who consider can flipping fun and interesting gameplay. Get an imagination people.
