I'm seeing lots of really important and impressive feats that the world could never have done without if it weren't for Portugal hundreds and hundreds of years ago, and not so many recent feats...it's a shame. Lots of countries are falling victim to this, imo. No matter what country you're from, everyone likes to brag about what "they" did in the past but it seems we're all starting to become complacent.

so true.
I do have mixed feelings about them finns tbh. I do understand why they they don't want lend us any money, but on the other hand, I'm not seeing a brighter future for us here in Portugal.
then again, every politician here is no better than a mobster and the only one that has actually some point, is a guy that has his party sitting on the right wing of the parliament (altho he's more of a center-right-ri- ah **** it, he's right-wing lol) that actually says anything besides blaming people.
the leftist parties (communist party (yes ours has a parliament seat)), and the BE (trans: Left Block) all they do is blame the Premier and spew utopian idealogical crap, and the second biggest party is a centrist group that lacks cohesion that also knows nothing more than just blame the premier too.
I mean, there must be something wrong in a country where someone like me, who is atheist and supports leftist policies, thinks that the best guy to put in charge is a 48-year old religious (but pragmatic) bachelor. ---

Yeah, LOL!
14. March 1940, the day after the end of the Winter War, the SS "Greta" sailed from Portugal to Finland transporting: 19 902 boxes of sardines, 956 boxes of onions, 157 boxes of canned fish, 27 boxes of pineapple, and one set of boxes, rubber thermal water bags, sweaters, and apparently received donations of skis. Deeply lament the Portuguese government announced that because their insufficient arsenals, it will not sell or give guns.
Finland should send to Portigal shipfull of herring and call it even!

I'm not that well versed in history but one point I must critique for the sake of correctness. He is wrong about 'arigato' being a protugese word, assuming he means it comes from 'obrigado'.

Invented the maritime compass? Always thought the chinese came up with that one.
But the salted cod. Bull****. Wiki says 500 years for a few nations. However, its well documented that Vikings sold this item over 1k years ago. Portugal was born in 1139.
