Edited by: Virtue Maulerant on 08/05/2011 20:36:23 Edited by: Virtue Maulerant on 08/05/2011 20:35:21 Very recently I run into what happens to many many animals in China (and not only) every day.I have never ever seen more disturbing images.I feel sick after watching it and I doubt that I will eat meat anytime soon. That is further enhanced by a recent visit to a farm.(at least the animals there seemed happy and were all over the place in a huge green field, well apart from the pigs who were sleeping in their pen)
I feel morally obliged to pass the word for this atrocity and shed some more light into what kind of world we live in.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING DO NOT WATCH IT IF YOU CANNOT STAND EXTREMELY BARBARIC AND SADISTIC ACTS.
Here it is...
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING DO NOT WATCH IT IF YOU CANNOT STAND EXTREMELY BARBARIC AND SADISTIC ACTS.
PS:I think I am going to throw up.
EDIT: How can these people be called civilised? This is an insult not only to humanity but to life itself.

Stop buying **** from China. They have destabilized the entire global economy by flooding the markets with cheap wares. Wares that are cheap because they use slave labor and have no concept of safety or pollution.
The only vote you have that counts is with your wallet. Modern 'democracy' and the state of lobbyists should demonstrate this to you.

Edited by: Vogue on 08/05/2011 21:48:51 When Europe went through the industrial revolution in the 19th century it was no cake walk for its citizens. There was much sordid inequity. Not that most people dwell on that as they watch Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice on TV.
From the disastrous 'cultural revolution' to where it is now China has shown a pace of national development that has surpassed any other country in history. Though the human rights situation is bad - if you publicly demonstrate about democracy you will be efficiently taken away and tortured. Although if you really annoy powerful people in the west you most likely will be lured in some type of sexual entrapment.

I like how the comments on that site turned into a "KILL ALL ASIANS" flame fest.
I'm sure if you donated one of the modern factories that kill continuously at a rate of 8k chickens per hour and modify it for dogs they'd stop doing it manually.

to be honest, and seeing the China issue in a totally rational and logical way, they do have a point in keep their politic system as it is.
I'm not seeing the economical power China that it is today if they went democracy, because stuff gets done.
at expense of liberty and many civil rights I must admit, but it works.
they also have a very pragmatic approach to business with foreign parties. an interesting example is how their 3 state-run oil companies setup shop in oil-producing countries in Africa: While the western big oil corps go there and say "okay we will buy your oil but you must do this, that and those.", China arrives and simply says "we want oil, we give you infrastructure." and they don't care about who is in power or whatnot.
in my sincere opinion, I think that while liberty and freedom is a nice thing, China is proving that a society where said freedom is restrained (up to a certain point), actually works and is productive.
...I guess we mankind are really that stupid. ---

Edited by: Ibelong Inamarr Khamsi on 10/05/2011 06:41:14 I'm usually annoyed by animal rights activist and anyone that seems to care more about animals than humans. I cannot stress enough how obnoxious I find people like that, but who the **** skins a dog alive? Nature is incredibly brutal but there is no reason to do that.
I understand they do it because it's their livelihood. I just think they should be nice enough to at least kill the animal before skinning it. I'm not going to lie, that video is incredibly upsetting. These people are shockingly apathetic; Something I just cannot understand

What makes you think they'll have any "respect" towards something that's basically regarded as vermin in those parts ? I doubt you feel remorse for killing a fish, a snake, a snail, a frog, a fly or a spider, and there are quite a few people in self-proclaimed western "civilized countries" hurt or killed other mammals for sport. Sure, maybe you can justify hunting animals for sport in that you try to cut their suffering short, but do you really think those filmed sequences are really representative of what actually happens to MOST animals there, as opposed to what some of the most brutally efficient ones do ? At the same time, some other cultures would freak at the idea of killing a Cockroach, while you would probably not even flinch. Moral values are relative, and kindness towards animals is not exactly an universal cultural trait.
So what is it what really bothers you more anyway, the fact that they kill those fuzzy cute animals, or just the METHOD used for their killing ?
If it's the fact they end up dead, well, bad news, they were going to die sooner rather than later in that part of the world. Like I said, they're basically regarded almost just like vermin over there. And quite arguably for good reason.
If it's the method, well, they end up dead either way, and their pain and suffering before death, in those cases where it actually happens (somehow, I choose to believe what I saw on that video was the exception rather than the rule, even if I'm probably just deluding myself), while anger-inducing, in the grand scheme of things really doesn't register. And it's not like you personally believe in reincarnation or that animals have a soul or something like that... or do you ?
Besides, do you think anything you can do or say would actually change anything over there ?

Meat is utterly horrific. But I honstly don't really care, I've got more bile and vitriol for people who'd rather waste money on animals while there are people who need it. Meat also tastes fab!

I would bet none of those guys will be coming back as human
As Akita said, I will chose to think that this in not the norm. If it was I would wager that it would have hit bigger news sources. But as Akita said as well, I may be deluding myself.
As for the skin coming off easier when the animal is still alive, I will say that the skin comes off a dead animal about as easily as it did in that video, and I have killed and gutted my fair share of fuzzy little aminals.

You have some good points and I dont think either that China would have the financial might they are getting if they went with a pure western economic policy (a failed system anyway, to much power and risk free capitalism to private banks). The world is not black and white. China is not all bad and US is not all good. If China are smart they can transition to Abraham Lincoln's Greenback dollar system. That would give the goverment full control over the money supply while at the same time all profit from the money supply can be used to replace taxes. With fractional reserve banking you dont need private banks, that is one of the big secrets you wont hear from the federal reserve system, a system which was drafted by the private banks in partnership with Senator Aldrich in 1913. Only with Austrian economics that favor a free market with gold/silver backed currency do you need private banks. With fractional reserve banking, private banks become blood sucking parasites. With risk free capitalism, ofc private banks are going to abuse this power. Private banks are the only buisness on the planet that has the power to make trillions of dollars out of nothing which is legalized crimes. Fractional reserve banking belong to the goverment, not private banks.
Action still speak louder than any words. John Pilger - The New Rulers of the World
For more than a decade, China have done more to end poverty than most other Countries in the World. The middle class in China is booming, while beeing wiped out in US. Most poor people would rather have prosperity than democracy. No one want to live in poverty and be a slave to the banking system. Today many poor Americans have become a slave to the banking system and dont even realize it
Quote: China's middle class has grown from 65.5 million in January 2005 to 80 million in January 2007. It is forecast to expand to 700 million by 2020, driven by continued strong economic growth.

China Surpasses U.S. in Purchasing Power
Since WW2, US have gone from the biggest industrial nation to become the largest debtor nation in the history of the world.. Talk about epic failure. This is not mere incompetencee, this monetary system is so corrupt now it's collapsing under its own weight. The reason why US have been able to live beyond their means since the collapse of the Bretton Woods system has to do with petro dollars. Peak oil is just another scam the big oil banks such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan got running. China will probably seek to end this dollar hegemony/petro dollars and when that happens inflation in US will sky rocket. Keep in mind that 90% of the dollars are outside US so China dont want this money to become totally wortless. The most likely outcome, will be a 'split' where the dollars outside US will be controlled by China and other Countries that want a new world reserve currency. Behind the scenes there are undoubtly some secret negotiations taking place but one thing is certain, the US as a world empire is coming to a quick end. I can only imagine the shock to American public once they realize that a new financial super power will be running the global economy. |

If it's food, I'm okay with it. Not saying that excessive cruelty against animals doesn't bother me but... I mean, it's food. It's just not food-ified yet.
Also, regarding the matter with "don't buy asian products"... most of those products are made, because international companies have moved their factories to China. Funny thing is, China have increased their minimum wage laws a few years ago, and while still being bad at worker's rights, they're improving them (slowly).
This ironically gives a financial boost to other Asian countries, like Vietnam, because said international companies move their factories to new (and cheaper) places.
Also, it occurs to me, atleast half my posts are always slightly off-topic (in this case, most of it) >,>
