Please insert the wierdest scientific expierment you ever tried.
5 minutes ago, I built a minature Bermuda Triangle at my computer desk. Apparently nothing happened. What is with the stupid 2-minute cooldown? And why do the settings never save themselves? |

Also the Bermuda Triangle is just a cultural phenomenon. Place any triangle over a comparably busy shipping area, and a bunch of ships are bound to disappear mysteriously.
Heck, I'd be willing to be more ships disappear in the South China Sea then in Bermuda.
PS. State your null hypothesis please! and further more why do i even need a sig? |

It was either on mythbusters or some other Discovery channel show were they found out why ships disappear over the Bermuda triangle.
It turns out methane escaping from the ocean floor causes ships to simply lose buoyancy and sink. Same deal with planes.

First, mythbusters does bad science. Second, they may have "proved" that methane could sink ships bermuda isn't the only place with that kind of deposit.
Really, when a ship disappears and it's in the bermuda triangle, the nuts go all over it. When that ship docks in Miami several days later, and explains how it's captain got drunk and went to argentina by mistake, nobody cares. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

I got an ice cube and put it outside in the sun to see if global warming was true. I came back 10 min laater and found that it had half melted. My results were inconclusive.

As for the link, the forums don't work properly. Also, the Bermuda Triangle does exist and it isn't just a Cultural Phenomenon. It is actually a magnetic triangle in the middle of the ocean. ________________________________________________

Tried to find a just-the-facts, non-political Foxnews article where the user comments did _not_ blame the liberals/socialist/left/muslims/RINOs/etc..
Seriously, even a fluff article on a hairless dead animal that appears to be a chupacabra requires rabid political name calling?

Well if Obama Bin Laden would get off his butt and deploy troops to take out the Chupacabra then there would be no issue. Say what you will about Bush but how many Chupacabra attacks were there when he was Commander and Cheif? I don't care it's Obama's fault, thats how many!

Holy s***! A man that actually knows what he is doing!
The only way to get those Chupacaba images out of my head is to find it and kill it, and any others that might exist.
I might also want to fly a Predator over the Bermuda Triangle and observe what happens from a safe distance. Because I am pretty sure that Methane isn't the only cause. For example, why do satelites fail to map the area within the Bermuda Triangle? It may look like there is just water there, but satelites always fail to map the area and fill it in with the stuff that is around it: Water.
More expierments, please. Keep those experiments going. ________________________________________________

Well obviously it is going to melt if it is out in the sun. ________________________________________________

Pffft. Using the word "obvious" is the first sign of being wrong.
Moonlight cannot melt the ice cube. Moonlight is sunlight.[1] Sunlight comes from the sun. Ergo, the sun cannot melt the ice cube.
Therefore, the ice cube melted because of global warming and not because of the sun.
[1] Look it up, it's true!

Look up Heat Transfer by Radiation, Conduction, and Convection Also notice that when the moon is out, it reflects only a certain amount of light, and much of that light gets lost. Also notice that the moon is very small and it isn;t very birght. Also notice that at night, everything is dark because the side of the world you are on is facing away from the sun, thus it is cooler on your side. Also notice that the sun is millions of degreees farenhieght. Sounds good to me. Well, sounder than the research coming out of East Anglia anyway.

So we're back to inconclusive, since the sun could or could not have partially melted the ice.

Edited by: Iasius on 21/05/2011 15:39:05 I have wondered what It would be like if humans lived on a planet the size of Jupiter. I am sure there are numerous astronautic physics rules why this is impossible. But for fictional conjecture it would be very interesting to speculate on the societal development of human development on a gigantic planet in terms of national\economic relations. The 21st century would be like the 15th century new world.
.
Though I am interested in many things scientific I lack the concentration skills to do complex stuff myself. Although in the 1980's Tandy in the UK (Radio Shack in the USA) did the electronics lab kits to teach kids and adults electronics. I had the 200 in 1 kit and another one. The solar powered radio was really neat. Just a few components and connections for a working radio that always worked with a bit of light.
