From test server forum:
Quote: Security Connection
Understanding of military culture.
Improves loyalty point gain by 10% per level when working for agents in the Security corporation division.
While they are taking out the old LP skills they are adding in at least one new one and I would assume one for the other 2 divisions of mining and courier. Dunno about R&D.

We lose 7 rank1 skills and we'll get back 3 rank 2 skills
Will go: Bureaucratic ↓ Financial ↓ High Tech ↓ Labor ↓Military ↓ Political ↓ Trade
Next to that I'll never make use of the Mining Connections skill so in the end I'm way better off!! ^^

Excellent. This will should stop all the tinfoil hatters whining about future potential LP loss and how missions are being axed and how CCP hates PVE.

I think that the changes will provide a general improvement as a lot more agents will get you max LP/ISk rewards.
The only thing that's concerning is that so many (already unpopular) mixed division L4 agents will become 100% couriers: Advisory (was 52% Encounter), Personnel (was 56% Encounter) and Public Relations (was 61% Encounter) will all be replaced with 100% hauling mission agents.
Non-combat focussed corporations like Vherokior Tribe, Nugoeihuvi Corporation, Hedion University, Amarr Civil Service, Bank of Luminaire, Boundless Creation, Allotek Industries, Wiyrkomi Corporation and probably dozens of others will only have courier agents left.
Which isn't exactly encouraging as the profit for those agents will decrease very much. The number of viable corporations to mission for will greatly decrease, the corporations that have one or more combat agents will be more evenly rewarding now though.

Edited by: Foralai Altrus on 15/05/2011 00:44:03 Sounds like you'll see people breaking out their old mining/hauler skills to grind up lp now.
I know I can see breaking out a barge/exhumer for my main just to grind missions while hauling cargo for a break.
But it also means people will focus more on what their strengths are in SP.
Where my main can handle combat (easily up to lvl 3s, some lvl 4s) she can handle mining/cargo runs with ease all the way to max (with transports and exhumers)
Edit: this actually would allow for a lesser value to LP in effect... because you don't have to worry about rejecting missions. so you have people running just the mission types they want, so a bigger pool of lp because jaded miners can run missions for isk/lp when things are rough market wise

changing public relations to hauler only will make sisters probes probably cost a good 2-5 times more inside of a year.
i would assume that they're not listing everything that the skills will change. either that or they're just plain crazy.
if i get skill points back though, it's not going to hurt my feelings. my main has every one of the current socail skills maxxed, and never uses them. it's a beautiful thing.

They haven't announced it so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if some agents eventually moved divisions and some new combat divisions would be created at corporation that did not previously have one. Even if not, it's not such a big deal.

Is there a dev blog for this? Am I right in thinking this will be another batch of SP to reassign?

What worries me about this is, will it lead to more "clumping" of players around the combat-only L4 dispensers?
I spent quite a bit of enjoyable research finding agents that had the right balance of factors for me. Will I be forced to move again, in order to get any combat at all?
Frankly, this all just seems unnecessary to me. More kowtowing to whiners? It was actually part of the fun, for me, to get the occasional courier missions and have to gnash my teeth - it gave a little simulacrum of life to what could otherwise be just a mission-dispensing system.
Adapt and overcome, and all that, but still, I have a sense of foreboding about it. *****

No devblog yet. Check the fanfest videos, the forum threads with official posts, and the current changes on Singularity. You are right in assuming - you'll be able to reassign any SP currently in XYZ Connection skills.

Another thing is that miners without any combat skill can grind standings for corps they want for R+D or 100% refining.
Although I wonder in how far Distribution wil actually be 100% hauling - last time I looked it also included quafe and damsel transport to name a few. Which isn't exactly without combat.

quafe is easy....sneak in cloaky in a tanky ship and the fighting is optional. Right path you hit the warehouse, get decloaked by it, get it and buffer tank your way out.
Its slow this way granted...recommend a covert ops cloak capable ship to speed it up (faster travel time this way). Injectors and speed rigs on cloaky as well to squeeze out more speed.

Assault Frigate works well for me. A corp member almost did it in a shuttle...
So it sounds like CCP are looking into cleaning up some of the skills, connection skills here but I wonder what else?

I think they should fix dead skills first, like DED connections for example, instead of shuffling all the other connection skills. CCP is still kinda prodigy to me - some kinda genious - some kinda megafail ......

Skills
- Accompanying the changes to Agent Divisions, seven ęConnectionĘ skills will be removed. The skill books of the old connection skills will be replaced with their new equivalents which are listed below. Players who have the old skills already trained will have those skills removed and receive replacement skillbooks in the hangar of their home station and have the skillpoints reimbursed.
- Bureaucratic Connections and Financial Connections will be replaced with Distribution Connections.
- High Tech Connections, Military Connections and Political Connections will be replaced with Security Connections.
- Labor and Trade Connections will be replaced with Mining Connections.

So, I currently have lvl 4 in Military and Political Connections. Since these are rank 1 and the new Security Connections will be rank 2, am I right in thinking that I'll have to put all my reimbursed points into the new skill to get it to lvl 4 and receive the "same" LP bonus I did before the change?

I have only ever done it in a shuttle. Covops or AF is overkill tbh. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not quite.... before you received:
1.20x1.20=1.44 times the LP
Now you get: 1.4 times the LP
But your 2 rank 1 at level 4 indeed translate to 1 rank 2 at level 4.
They have just simplified their agent categories... just as they removed agent quality for both simplicity sake and getting people to shift out of the old Agent Hubs. -----------------------------------------------

The old skills were additive, not multiplicative, so there is no change. The social skills were always known to be an exception to the multiplicative rule.

All things considered this will be a nerf.
Might not look like this still now but it will reduce the lvl 4 income especially for the people who put the effort to resear agents out of the mixed division more production oriented corporations.
These have much better LP store items 5 item bpc's etc. That had better lp conversion rate.
It is another cases of dumbing down eve.
The I want to shot something and don't want to think what and where group gets better quality agents. The folks who have researched and compared the conversion rates have now useless distribution agents. Since there is much more people in the first group they will flood the market and the values of LP will go down.
I understand why they did this though this is probably going to finally break the distribution of mission hubs more evenly and with guristas being totally annoying with their jamming now it will cause a lot of people to move from their old playground of Caldari space.
Too bad they nerfed the other 3 races income potential over long run as well. Pod |

Already happening. Amarr and minmatar space both got ****ing swamped overnight with caldari refugees. LP/isk values across the board are taking a massive dump and prices are still dropping. If this keeps up nerfed ratting and sanctums might start to look really good again.
