Edited by: Miss Rabblt on 16/05/2011 09:31:28 esterday i lost my pimped carebear mobile
It was usual weekend of a lazy carebear. Bought 3 bookmarks to 10/10 rogue drone escalations. Prepared ammo..... One escalation finished. Total: 1 hour 15 minutes. Kinda nice for me. Previous time i calculated was 2 hours with minutes.
So... Nothing on horizon. Deep 0.0 space lacks people so nearest neutral is afk cloaker 15 jumps away. What can go wrong?
And then.... Tengu entered last room (with drone mother). I set it to orbit sentry tower 70km away, started afterburner, started to lock targets to collect whole aggro.....
Suddenly i see something wrong on screen. Looks like ship goes to wrong direction! Yes. OHMYGOD! Tengu is near to neutralize tower and capacitor is almost gone! Afterburner is out. Shield booster eats last peeces of capacitor energy... Warp! no way. WARP! no way. WTF??? Here we go: scrambler! Launch drones, target! TARGET I SAID! Align... Shoot it, attack by drones, ATTACK!!!............ BOOM. "Standard insurance of uninsured ship is received".
(here we have happy pirates "carebear tears")
Well. ok. It was funny. Surprisingly i got most expensive modules in the wreck. So i lost ship + rigs + subsystems. Today i have bought this ship already.
But what was this topic about besides some funny history? I'm not sure.
I'm only going to say that this is kinda strange for me when pimped ship with nice tank got killed only some seconds after one wrong command (i think it was some kind of mouse command "move to" when i was locking targets).
After all: it was most fun feeling after one week of lazy and quite carebears life.....
PS: one more thing. Is it normal when ship does nothing at result of command "Warp to" under scramble? Shouldn't it align to direction instead? Or this will make life too easy?

Had almost the same stuff with a Navy Mega dps setup, World Collide (sanchas) to help some friend.
We jump in and oc he sets his drones aggressive, they hit the spy and guess what. Those pesky scram frigs hated my mega paint, got scramed half dozen times and all the rest of the room bursting my ship...with my dps setup not enough ehp or tank = bouum
A little mistake some distraction or even worst disconnected while scramed and this kind of lazy stuff can happen. How many guys forget they are in low/null sec and just alt+tab for small stuff and when they get back there's no ship any more and sometimes just popped in some fresh new pod

False doubleclicks happen in pvp too. Corpmate lost a loki to 2 canes because of it. 'tis ****e.
Don't know why you were expecting to warp when scrambled. Or with 0 cap. |

would be nice to put off this "feature". Or change it to something like "Alt+mouse click".

You have misread my post: i detected scram only after trying to gtfo. And usually you can warp with almost empty cap.

You are right here, even with 0 cap you will be able to warp out of grid (if you are not scrammed, ofc ..). You will just not warp very far, thats all.

Right you are about warp not aligning. Try spamming s+click and a+click, or dance between the selected items buttons. I guess the theory is warping isn't aligning, and you might want to burn to a gate under a interdictor's bubble, try to warp to give them aggro, then jump and not have drifted out of range.
You can't warp with 0 cap, though you might regen enough very soon after. There's skills, subsystems and even implants iirc to warp with minimal cap, but you need some not none. |

You put drones on a Tengu? Is that a viable build for 10/10s?

IIRC it does align. I try to avoid the situation where I am scrammed and desperately trying to warp out so I only have two or three data points for this statement though
I did lose a 1.6bil CNR recently, which I've been whining about for a while to the detriment of my fellow chat members. It's amazing how fast CNR tank can melt when you're out of cap. Ironically, like the second poster's SNI, it was also to Worlds Collide second room and also due to aggroing the spies wrong.

Well. 1800DPS omni tank + 560m/sec speed cap stable. Only problem is that my main is pure drone master. So missiles don't do good damage. I put "Rifling ..." subsystem instead of "Accelerated ..." to get 1 berserker T2 and still use 5 launchers. Then i have more DPS and 5 small drones just in case it is needed. Other reason: my damage dealers have little drone skills so frigates aren't an easy target for them in each room.
Tried to fit tengu with 6 lauchers but haven't had success with good tank (need alot more power). Not sure if speed tank with 800-900DPS Omni will work in 10/10. And stuff is expensive enough to not just buy and test it =)

I've always discounted drones on Tengu, guess I'll have to EFT them after all after getting back home. As far as trying expensive stuff in-game is concerned, the test server is great for that.

tengu`s huge overtanked in 90% of cases anyway ... so why don`t you use passive hardeners ? It isn`t too much difference in dps tank , and you won`t have to worry THAT much if **** happens .

hm... i haven't show my fit. But it contains X-large shield booster, CalNavy invul + Pyth A-type EM hardener + 10MN Gist C-type afterburner. So i really don't think passive hardeners make a difference.

Wouldn't a Meta 5 or better [Faction, II, Deadspace, Storyline, etc...] Large shield booster be more cap-efficient? Also, I'd think 2 rat-specific hardeners rather than the Navy Invul.
Working towards my Tengu now, so I'm looking for optimals. Any help w/ explanation would be awesome.

Cap efficiency isn't a problem. Unless you are not under neutralizing ofc. What is about hardeners. Rogue drones make good omni damage. You should always prepare to heavy Exp/Kin. But sometimes you meet with heavy EM. And some drones make thermal damage.
