Ok I was just wondering does anyone have some tips for a soon to be vagabond pilot wanting to start solo pvping?

Yea, start in a cheaper ship if you are new to soloing.

Get some pratice in with ships you can afford to lose http://eve.battleclinic.com/ if you want module specs.
Also know who you are up against, I was in a thrasher being chased by some ***hole in a drake so after after a few jumps I dropped out of warp 7500km from the planet assuming he'd do the same given his ship & possible modules, I had an ECM Burst, 1mn MWD, Warp Scrambler, 7 125mm Gatling AutoCannon 1s, & a Limos missile Launcher, Man was I right.

1.Grab any random ship with any crappy fittings you can get hold of.
2.Get very drunk.
3.Wake up the next morning, unglue your face from the keyboard and look up the killmails that have magically appeared during the night.

If the drake was badly fitted I dont see why not, dousche.
My advice would be getting some cheaper version of the ship you plan to solo in. In the case of the Vagabond try flying a Stabber first and get used to it. After a while you can try a Fleet Stabber, it peforms very similiar to the Vagabond but is slightly cheaper. I suppose you could also practise in a Claw or a Stilleto as the flying has alot in comon with the Vagabond. Just make sure you lose a few ships before you take a Vagabond out for a spin.
Make sure you feel comfortable using the directional scanner, it¦s your best friend when flying solo, asuming you dont plan to fly with somekind of alt and call it solo.
Another good tips is to know the area you plan to roam in. Make BMs, get to know the locals and make sure you know where you can get supplies nearby.

Don't learn how to PvP in Vagabonds. Your best bets are either a nano Rupture or even Hurricane as training ships.

Practice staying out of trouble and picking off smaller ships. Stay out of scram and web range and learn how to pull gangs apart and pick off the slower guys. As you get better at it then move on to Vagabonds and Cynabals.

Nano Rupture is the best training ship for a Vaga. Be prepared to lose plenty as you learn, don't get discouraged by losses, and once you have some experience, look for a good corp. Even if you fly solo all the time, you will benefit from being in a corp (if its the right one), sharing fits, intel, logistics etc.

I like stealth bombers (torps without bomb launcher ofc) because they're not that expensive, allow you to sneak up on people, allow you to move around between ganks and through camps while teaching you an important lesson about picking your targets/fights. (in the sb's case anything that can hit you, almost ;p)
