I was trying to use the agent 'Ellar Stin' in Konora for an angel epic arc to get my faction standing up so I can use the higher level agents out in Curse. Standings are confusing the h*ll out of me:
Ellar Stin: Your personal standings must be -2.0 or higher toward this agent, its faction, or its corporation in order to use this agent's services.
Ok so she is a domination agent, I have a 0.0 towards Domination so I thought I could use her, plus I was told by several people she is an agent that anyone can use to fix pirate standings with regardless of standings (wrong apparently).
My Serpentis standing is -4.98 with diplo V and my Angel Cartel standing is -4.25 with diplo V. These are the standings I'm hoping to fix with the epic arc missions.
My question is wtf do I need to do to use this particular agent? I read somewhere that I need a 4.65 standing with Minmatar in order to use her. Currently my standing with the Republic is 2.42 with connections 3..ugh.
Thanks

Edited by: Wendi Watson on 18/05/2011 22:46:30 It's because your Angel Cartel faction (which the Dominations corp belongs to) standing is below -2.0. If you go below -2.0 with a faction you lose access to all but (until the changes tomorrow) L1 agents with Quality from -20 to 0 from all Corporations in that faction.
Beyond that, as a L3 Q7, you might need that 4.35 standing towards either the Dominations corporation or Angel Cartel faction. This may be reduced to needing a 3.0 standing with the changes in tomorrow's patch (where agents are considered Q-20 for access purposes).

You can ALWAYS access negative-quality L1 mission agents regardless of any factors. ALL L1 mission agents will fit the bill after the patch tomorrow, since they'll all be considered (standings-wise) negative quality L1s.
However, for positive-quality L1 mission agents or higher (after tomorrow, just L2 agents and higher), you need to have EACH AND ALL of the three standings (faction, corp, agent) above -2.00 effective AND at the same time also at least one of the three above the value required by the agent (after tomorrow's patch, +1 for L2s, +3 for L3s, +5 for L4s and +7 for L5s).
Example 1 : you could have +10 with a L2 agent and +10 with his NPC corp, but if you have -2.01 effective with his faction, you can't access the L2 agent. Example 2 : you can have -10 agent, -10 corp and -10 faction, but you can still access any L1 agent after tomorrow's patch (and any negative-quality L1 agent before the patch). _

Given that your faction standing towards the agent's faction is lower than -2.0, it won't help you. As Akita stated above, to use this agent after the patch, your Angel Cartel and Dominations standings both need to be above a -2.0, and one of them needs to be 3.0 or greater.

There are other options: http://lorebook.eve-inspiracy.com/
From the Angel Arc guide:
Quote: The first agent is Aton Hordner who is located at the Minmatar Shipyards in the Egbinger solar system. Before Aton is willing to hand over his first mission of the arc (The Balance of Power) you need to have a minimum of 4.35 in effective standing (skills included) with either the Republic Security Services corporation or the Minmatar Republic faction. The second agent is Arajna Ashia who is located at the Abandoned Research Station Sigma Nine in the Sendaya solar system. Before Arajna is willing to hand over her first mission of the arc (Mistaken Identity) you need to have a minimum of 4.35 in effective standing (skills included) with either the Amarr Navy corporation or the Amarr Empire faction. The third agent is Ellar Stin who is located at The Coward Eller Stin in the Konora solar system. Before Ellar is willing to hand over her first mission of the arc (???) you need to have a minimum of 4.35 in effective standing (skills included) with either the Dominations corporation or the Angel Cartel faction.

As agents no longer have quality it has become easier to access the Epic Arcs too.
