So gents, I figure I'd pass this arround for the laughs. I find it funny, hopefully you all will to.
My main is in a small pve/indy corp. Its getting off the ground, I'm a bit higher SP then the rest of the members, save one or two. And I've tried to help it grow in joint with a amazing group of friends who make up the leadership.
The other day someone sends in a random application "I can pilot a barge and have a hauler alt, looking for a small corp home." Of course being the paranoid man I am, I had several red flags go up. Did what research I could, clean corp history, about 60 days old character, but anything that sounds good in eve is a trap, and if its not, well the trap just hasn't sprung yet.
The corp invites her anyway as I had nothing but suspicion to throw up in my defense. She stays quiet in corp, never really talks, but then about 8 hours later we get a war dec threat. "Give me money and I'll go away." From... a 1 man corp created that day. Of course we were ammused. I believe the original estimate was 500 mil, we said "No." Then 20 mil per member.... that's 400 mil. No, you're not a threat.
Of course I thought this was a very noob attempt at a scam, try to scare some indy's into free isk. Well imagine my suprise, the corp actually dec's us. We were all rather flabergasted. Did they invite several members? Was it a dummy corp for a pirate corp? No... 1 man corp still..... we go fit up some pvp ships, I personally am quite fond, and falling deeper and deeper in love with my new sniping Zealot.
We wait outside her station, all of us camping it, seeing if she'd undock once the war goes active. Nothing.... nothing.... nothing.... boored... nothing... go home. I send a convo, thinking I'll say "Hey, nice try but you're wasting our isk and letting our hopes down for kills."
"You don't know how I work."
O_o what does that even mean? Are we going to lose isk waiting to kill her, is that the master scheme? Who knows.
Regardless I thought it was pretty a pretty lawlzy situation... Fly safe Eve universe.

You know, if you shoot the station then all Wartargets will be forced to undock, letting you kill them.
They asked me if I was a God, and I said no, because God shows mercy. |

It's pretty clear how he works. Turning up on his doorstep for a fight will not get you a fight. He'll just wait you out until you get bored of your camp, maybe even for weeks, until you return to your normal routine. That's when he will hunt you down and pick off members when they are most vulnerable. Before long, the ISK demand made of you will be well and truly surpassed by the losses of Hulks and Orcas and you'll hire Mercs or pay him, just so you can return to normality.
Best advice is to circle your wagons. Keep your members close together and always have PvP ships ready to move to the aid of a member at very short notice. Alternatively, pay him off. Your call.

Never pay a extortion attempt or you'll find hundreds more. Honestly he won't get many kills, we run everythign as groups regardless. The fellow fits a drake, t2 tank based on its strength, gonna guess t2 missiles because hey, plan for the worse.
Its going to be bore him to death, our newbies know how to run, our old characters know how to fight :D

I missed the part where you connected these two together.

I've dealt with this sort of thing too, back when my corp lived in highsec. It's easily dealt with but unfortunately there's a lot of industrial corps out there who don't read the forum and don't know how to deal with it, so end up paying.
Also, as above, how have you connected the new member joining to the war dec? CEO Enlightened Industries |

A 1 man corp deccing another corp and alliance aint uncommen.
This is how it work, we just had one alike.
1 man corp (an alt) dec an alliance or corp. Then sit inactive for 3-4 days. On day 5-7 other toons join the corp and go for exspensiv mission runners and easy targets. Best part, they can apply early and get accepted on their warp to your mission site.
The loot along from some of the nicely fitted mission boats can pay for the war it self.

As someone who have deced a larger 50+ corp with a solo/3-4man corp, you don't do empire wardecs to get fair fights.
You just leave your wardec character online for days, leave them on while you sleep/work/eat, just like afk cloaking.
And when some of the noob players get tired of camping my station, or get frustrated with not making money and try to ninja mission/mine when the corp leadership is not online, you use your scout alts and locator agents to find them, and pop them.
When they come back with a fleet of pvp ships, you dock back up.
Any decent high sec griefer will not fight a remotely even fight.

So this player is fail because they didn't immediately throw themselves on your spear (station camping blob)? I think it just proves that you really don't know how this works.
Good luck in your near future. Please update with more fail when it happens.

When I was running Honorless Internet Jerks with two other pilots we declared war on OWN Alliance and had great fun picking off mission runners and freighters of pilots who didn't take the threat of a corp 1/100th their size seriously. It was good fun.
Most one-man decs will eventually end without a shot being fired, but this doesn't mean that you should ignore the dec. Members should not mission alone, or at the very least not mission in blingy ships. All members should add the pilot to their contacts and keep track in intel channels of where he is with locators.
Remember, just because he is docked 10 jumps away does not mean that he isn't dangerous. We would commonly scan out war targets running missions using our alts, undock, fly straight to them, and make them sad.
Keep your head about you and keep your members from getting complacent, and you should be fine. Good luck doing that if it runs more than a couple of weeks, though. ---- Blog: My Loot, Your Tears |
