You people do realize that where before we had 2 rank 1 skills that affected 5% each, we now have 1 rank 2 skill that affects 10%, right?
At any rate, there was a slight nerf but you seem to have skipped all your math classes, so i'm not going to explain it. ____________

it was also a total of 7 skill brought down to 3
its actually a buff cause those 3 military based skills only ever had 2 of them that effected a single old division at once. Which means that no matter which division you worked for, one of those three skills was wasted if you maxed all 3 out. Now the new security skill applies all the time ^^

People like the OP have been around for quite some time, methinks.
Originally by: Matthew 20:1-16
1 ôFor the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 ôAbout nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, æYou also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.Æ 5 So they went.
ôHe went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, æWhy have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?Æ
7 ôæBecause no one has hired us,Æ they answered.
ôHe said to them, æYou also go and work in my vineyard.Æ
8 ôWhen evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, æCall the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.Æ
9 ôThe workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. 12 æThese who were hired last worked only one hour,Æ they said, æand you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.Æ
13 ôBut he answered one of them, æI am not being unfair to you, friend. DidnÆt you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 DonÆt I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?Æ
16 ôSo the last will be first, and the first will be last.ö

Don't Forget the Vets!
Don't forget the Vets! What's that supposed to mean? The game should be frozen in time?
Anyway, you have nothing to complain about as you're getting the sp back, even less to complain about than the learning skill removal as social skills don't effect the speed at which someone can train. Maybe they should not give you the sp back to use as at least then you would have something to complain about.

I don't really see the big deal. After a certain amount of SP your pretty much just training random **** to keep the training going. I mean honestly half the stuff I train now is just random skills to V. That for the time spent training them isn't really worth the bonus but hell why not.

I think most are missing the part of the post that counts:
"we DESERVE a premium for the sacrificial decision to train skills that CCP have now culled..."
I had all my learning skills maxed, and it was a huge step to do so. I lost ****ing friends over that decision. "I wasn't training for pvp?" No i was trying to be smart and get a leg up on everyone else in the long run. I did too!! Guys that started before me are behind me in sp.
The op makes a valid point imo. We got nothing for the sacrifice of months of training. Then more months of trying to play catch up with our old friends who had been in our ear on teamspeak hooting and hollering during great pvp battles in null sec.
I know its hard to put a value on it, but the sacrifice was real. Then ccp just comes along and takes it from us. I did enjoy using up all the sp thou

I got Turret Destabilization 4.
Seems like a fair trade seeing how I don't run missions anymore.
When the learning skills were 'taken' from us, I maxed out almost all my ewar skills and I still train about 2500 SP/HR on my min/max attributes.
Some of you people would make GREAT talk show hosts because you have perfected the art of complaining when there is nothing there to actually complain about. ___

Yes you did: you trained faster and ended up with more SP than they did, just like you intended when you trained the skills.
Oh andà Quote: "we DESERVE a premium for the sacrificial decision to train skills that CCP have now culled..."
No we don't. The premium has already been handed out as part of training the skills, and in the case of the connection skills nothing was lost ù in fact, if you (rather stupidly) trained all of them, you get back more than you put in alreadyà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

considering that I actually finished negotiation 5 ahead of schedule, while having both military and mining connections at 5 and distribution connections at 4 (really, courier missions actually give less than mining missions) in one go and didn't have all previous connection skills maxed out, I can say that this actually finished my current plan nearly 15 days earlier.
so yes, I actually got anything but gains with this skillpoint.
well, except the bit where I don't have 300 skills anymore tho ---

No, all the crying bit vets thinking they deserve more than other players have no place in no matter the game, they ruin it instead of improving it, they're the ones that waste new players experience exploit all the game failures, never have enough isk while they sit on billions, arrogant, selfish, unsocial and the worst client any company should/don't want. Don't Forget the Vets!
Not sure if serious....
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that gives you the right to demand "More please Sir" over and above everyone else, your time spent in this game does not and should not ever give you special treatment.
Perhaps the reason you use the term "Vet" in the way you do is because you think of yourself as some sort of war veteran? You believe yourself to be part of a group of people who perhaps DO deserve special treatment because of the long standing nature of their activities, just like real "Vets".
If that's the case, then welcome to your Vietnam little soldier boy.

Did you really lose friends over that choice? I mean really? What does that say about you, considering these "friends" were people YOU chose to hang around with?
Every single skill you train is a choice, as is playing this game in the first place. Your friends chose not to train certain skills and went off to fight, you chose TO train them and didn't go off fighting, and you somehow expect CCP to reimburse you for that?
Why should one arbitrary choice be worth more than another? And more to the point, having made that "sacrifice" you received your reward, which in the case of learning skills was more skill points, or in the case of the social skills you got more standings/LP/ISK etc. The advantage gained from doing learning skills won't dissipate entirely for at least another 6 years (for the bitter vets that is) and you have probably already literally spent the advantage that training social skills gave you. So why do you deserve FURTHER rewards? The simple answer is, you don't.

But, you DID get a leg up. By your own admission you DID benefit from grinding your learning skills to max. Mission accomplished, and now you get to redistribute those points to new stuff.
This latest patch was great for me - I don't do missions anymore so all those SP I put into connections skills were now "lost" to me, and CCP just found them and gave them back.
