I will not rest until EVE has 1,000,000 Subscribers. Everyone start putting up posters all over your cities promoting EVE Online. The more subscribers, the more money CCP has, and the more servers they can afford and upgrade, and the more they can improve the game. ________________________________________________

Edited by: Amaroq Dricaldari on 21/05/2011 09:20:26 Come one, we need more players. There is a chance that CCP will start connecting servers that they don't normally use and linking them with the Tranquility server.
Somebody make a poster for EVE and then put it up on a wall outside the public library. ________________________________________________

"Total population in EVE grew overall in Q1 of 2010, but with some fluctuations. Q3 saw a decrease in accounts which continued into Q4, but by mid-Q4 the tide again turned and EVE continued its growth. This fits well with the cyclical behavior previously observed, where population and activity peak around expansions and then drop again in the time between. The year ended with around 360,000 accounts, with 725,000 different characters in-game."

Personally the only things advertised on walls I tend to pay for you can't really talk about in here, but I'm sure that I'm unusual in that respect and that the entire rest of the world relies on random scrawlings on derelict buildings and the windows of recently closed wine bars for game reviews.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the OP may be a deluded wuckfit, but am open to debate on the issue.

Let's see...
Bringing up OLD examples just to Troll, Making comments that make no sense, And failing to notice that I am very different than before
In case you are wondering, the buffer on a Hard-Drive is just RAM built-in to the Hard-Drive, and that is where I got my first idea (because the buffer is usually only a few megabytes) The "Bumping Contest" was because this part of the forums is for stuff not relating to the rest of the site, and also because other people post useless threads on this forum, and not to mention that osme people were actually starting to enjoy my thread The idea of a sub-forum for spammers was so that there wouldn't be as much spam in the main forums (and also so that people could spam without interfering with anything important)
I hope you are happy with my explaination. Go troll some other thread. ________ Posters for EVE |

Erm... I thought I did say it to you... admittedly I let everyone else hear as well, but that's the nature of public forums.
Glad to hear you did a good job on the poster... it must have been difficult with only crayons to work with. I'm sure CCP will give you a medal (or something... maybe they'll ship you a box of rotting shark as a thank you) when all those extra subscribers roll in.
On your other point, I am ginger, freckled, I wear glasses, I like old Kate Bush records and I'm an ex-pat southern softie living near Liverpool. What can you possibly threaten me with that is worse?
Get well soon.

I did not use Crayons. I took the largest EVE Tyranis Wallpaper, and then I added glowing text, and then I added crystalization effects and paint effects, as well as some extra glow effects and a noise filter ot make it look more like an old painting. ________ Posters for EVE |

Okay. I have only just woken up, and nothing has yet had a chance to sour my mood. Therefor, I am going to explain to you - point by point - why I, and several other people who post in /oope/ look upon your threads with disdain.
1. You barely, if ever actually research your own ideas feasibility or check facts that support your ideas implementation. - The first thread I linked was a classic case of this, and would have yielded disastrous results if attempted by anyone. - This thread is another case of this; You first set the goal at something silly like 50k subs, then ramping it to 100k, only to have proof show up that the current eve subscriber base is already more than triple that! and so you then have to re-set the goal. Again. 2. Your ideas are counter-intuitive to the continued growth of a constructive community. Often their implementation would contradict the rules of the very forums themselves. - See my second and third links earlier in the thread. 3. Occasionally, when you make a thread worth contributing to it often devolves into insults within the first few posts. - This very thread is a prime example. Someone came in and pointed out the flaws/errors in your facts, and you told them to shut up and try to sit on your own viewpoint again instead of accepting you are, simply, wrong.
Those being my main points. Another I would bring up is the fact your "poster" is simply the 1024x768_02 Tyrannis wallpaper Blown up, with some blurring filter applied in photoshop with a couple of lines of token text. Not to mention, we're now in incursion! and you left the Tyrannis text in underneath the blur. Oh and on top of that, you stretched it horizontally ****ing up the aspect ratio.
Bugger, I'm starting to swear. Guess that's all I have to say then.
On the other hand, this is a ****ing masterpiece.

I set the goal to 100,00 one time because I only ever saw between 30-40k online at a time, so I didn't know that it had 300k players. Originally by: Blane Xero On the other hand, this is a ****ing masterpiece.

30-40k playes x12 timezones on the planet. Ok it's pretty crude math but it does shed some light on the issue.

Because... all subscribers are always online at the same time...? Seriously? That train of thought had zero alarm bells going off?
Blane does have a point mate... your brain seems to have an awfully weird way of handling information
On topic: Its not pretty mate, i'm sorry, but it really is not. I am also not going to touch your ill-fated plans to personally round up people to play a game with a long poking device, refer to earlier comment on brain-information handling please.
edit: Also, I refuse to post in your new thread, you are - imvho - NOT an important enough person to self-moderate or make personal demands of the moderators, or instruct us other forum dwellers on how to respond to you, controlfreak much?

Not insulting, and not your intelligence. Your ideas seem to be 'out there', which is why you get the reactions you are getting (note: they are fundamentally different from trolling). What I am suggesting is to ground your ideas a bit more, as to keep a common frame of reference with those you share your ideas with, and reality.
edit: ideas, plural, as you are also seemingly employing quite a different set of those in terms of forum moderation and behaviour
