TL;DR: Does the Calefaction Catalyst not affect Torpedoes?
Heya,
I noticed that once I put the Calefaction Catalysts onto my ship, the in-game fitting windows "show charge info" did not show any difference in Thermal Damage (879 with my skills). Why is that? Using Pyfa, the Calefaction Catalysts do show an increase in damage, but not in-game.

The number you see on the fitting tools is Max damage without takeing into account the resists and sig radius of what your shooting.. Try hitting a structure with them and see what you get

Will try that - but I just want to clarify that the number ingame, when selecting show charge info on the torpedoes in the fitting window, the Thermal Damage value does not change when I add the rigs (though CPU usage of the launchers does increase).
I'm confused by this since, when e.g. my covops skill increased, I could see the increased damage when I did "show charge info"

The charge values will not change in the fitting window when you fit rigs or bcu's, the only way to have an idea of what you are able to do has dmg per volley, dps, or dmg per missile is still EFT.
OC you want to upload your API in the char editor and verify with your own skills.

Great, good to know, thanks! I've been reading too many "don't trust EFT but always check in-game" posts for my own good! ;)

Indeed, EFT must not be taken seriously but has a tool giving you a lot of information that you can use to improve your game.
Has you can see IG tools don't show this important info about charges no matter what they are, in this case EFT is interesting. To help you figure out what you can fit on your ship is also a very good tool.
If you take seriously the dps numbers or volley numbers then you will have some trouble because those numbers are calculated with static bases while IG maybe you'll shoot stuff with total different bases or situations and will make you theoretical dps look like crap. This is where EFT can be a very bad tool, not because of those EFT numbers really, but because people reading them are dumbs.

ya hopefully they will be able to add those figures to show ingame benifits in the game by right clicking
same problem with drone upgrade modules , dont show speed , range , (rig)damage or optimal differences |

EFT shows you raw numbers - it is a serious tool. How the numbers translate in game is left to your interpretation. You don't say a balance sheet must not be taken seriously just because a tax guy can use the numbers to twist reality a little bit.
And yes - it is about time for EFT to receive in game representation. It has been about time for the last 5 years - and not only that - I'd say hook EFT with NPC database , and with combat log. I'd really love to see real time numbers showing max dps, actual dps, percentage of hits, crits , misses and so on.
I mean COME ON !!!
