Alright, so this idea came from a game called Kerbal Space program. What happened, was it hit an object at 400m/s, and the object i hit was only going 380 m/s. This transfered some of my velocity to the object(standard Newtonian model).
What I propose is this:
A module, similar in functionality to a shield repair system, but instead of repairing a ship, Add a "afterburner effect" to the said ship being targeted. This can be used two ways. Warfare(speeding a ship up to increase their warp away time) or Support(Feeding velocity to a slow moving battleship).
description:
A Remote Afterburner*name subject to change* allows a Eve pilot to remotely feed another ship's velocity. This has the same effect as an Afterburner, except the capacitor is not used on the ship of interest, but of the one the module is fitted to. Capacitor consumed is directly proportional to the mass of the ship(higher mass=more power needed to work) Only one of these modules can be applied to any one ship at a time*does NOT stack with normal fitted Afterburners/MWD's*.
I thought this could lead to a cool new dimension in eve as far as EW/Logistics is concerned.
Drawbacks(logistics): Increases total velocity, which leads to a longer "time to warp" as per the current system.
Benefits(logistics): Allows a quick "rendezvous" of far away ships in fleet battles, etc.
Drawbacks(Electronic Warfare): consumes 1.25x the normal capacitor x mass of ship etc(Whatever calculation model you decide on)
Benefits(Electronic Warfare) Increases a ships time to warp using your current model.
Hope to see this added! |

I could see an anti-web logistical module to counter webs. I could see it increasing agility too.
More speed... I want it, but I know it's bad for the game. :P |

It is one module that fits in both categories, due to the nature of a "double edge sword"
And more speed? nothing that isn't already possible*with some defences/utility sacrifices*
It adds another element to fleet battles to consider. |

Doesent really make sense that you can transfer velocity, it just seems wierd |

isnt the long winded approach to this idea traditionally called bumping? |

As I read it, he wants to be able to bump people without actually running into them |

There is a long standing example of the basic idea already in science fiction. Well known too.
If you want to transfer motion from a host object to a remote one, you use a TRACTOR BEAM.
The original concept was that one ship could pull the other. The logic was that the physical shape and integrity of the ship's hulls simply did not allow them to directly connect, so they needed this device in order to do this.
There are other versions, sometimes called repulsor beams, sometimes still described as tractor beams just being used in reverse. They pushed objects away.
In each case, the leverage being applied was the inertia combined with the engine thrust action of the host ship.
There is no reason why this cannot have combat applications, since anything affecting an enemy ship could be potentially useful in a fight. Cloaking being on a ten minute manual cycle timer? (Author: Bree Okanata) Fine. As long as there is a ten minute timer for being docked in a station. Also, you can't stop moving in the game. Just add in a way so every ten minutes you are randomly warped to the nearest other player. Keeps people from going AFK. |

i can already imagine logistic ships helping stuck battleships in bubbles and alike, it would be really really nice to have this kind of module, could be used against your enemies on some interesting ways too:
make interceptors overshoot Make battleships move so fast they cannot track their target Help a friend outrun a tackler so he can warp allow a tackler catch up with a faster target
it should be able to stack but not to full extend but for lets say 25% only, so if it is alone it does a 100% effect, but if the target has a turned on AB or MWD it will just do 25% of its normal effect. |

strongly believe this module would need a tracking attribute otherwise it'll be curtains for tacklers everywhere! |

on the "bumping" No, it would not aid bumpers, or act as a bumpers tool. They have FULL control over the ship(even stopping ship).
As for the Interdictor overshoot? It wont engage if the target ship already has a active MWD or afterburner.
It IS a lock based module. One module, One ship.
As for the tractor beam idea, It is Nice, but the idea behind this is you "shoot high combustable and high bpu fuel into the engines of the target ship, thus increasing velocity."
It COULD use ammo as well instead of cap, if necessary.(kinda like an Ancillary Shield booster) based on above description.

Also, this does NOT engage if afterburners/MWD's are on, so this skill would have to include the remote afterburners/mwd's. |
