Have faith in the EVE market to adjust itself to varying supply and demand, higher ice prices mean eventual reduction in the price of pos's because fewer people can afford to run them, hence the price of ice eventually goes down because there's fewer pos's out there.
"but people will just rat more to buy the ice!" I hear you say... well yes... they can also do that... but if they do that, then people will realise how profitable ice mining is and the market will become flooded with ice as miners try to take a cut of the profits. Hence supply goes up, and prices go down. -------

The death of bots is a good thing. It will raise prices to where they should be and the market will once again be player driven. If you think it is mind numbingly horrible to ice mine then don't do it. If you like to mine as you are doing other things on the web or have the ability to do so as you are PVPing on a second account you will not be effected other than you will make more ISK in the process. High sec POS owners will be the only ones effected by this crusade and as they should be as with how easy it is to gain favor running FW mission for whatever empire you want to set your POS up in. 0.0 and low sec POS owners will not be effected a 0.0 powerblocs make so much ISK and those pirating in 0.0 are alts of 0.0 NAPfest ratters. Speaking as a player has played hardcore industry in the past, and may do so again in the future, BRING ON the radical increase in Ore, Ice and other such prices.
Go ahead, let em rise to several times what they are.
Concerns me not.
Because they rise for everyone.
A TRIVIAL price to pay for ruining the day of Botters. Ore, ice, etc price fluxuations are a risk/opportunity, but botters destroy the core of Eve
(They turn Eve PvP into WoW pvp by making Super-Cap replacement a simple matter of running your Bot while you are work/school for a few weeks, thus reducing the production of delicious tears...)
Play nice while you butcher each other.

Also the prices of ice and ore will simply rise to a point where the profit/hour reaches a point where it becomes enough to entice players go mining again. It shouldn't just be risk/reward, but also boredom/reward.

Indeed, if prices rise, they will rise for everybody. If people can't afford their POSses anymore than a) they're doing it wrong and b) less competition for the rest of us.

Does this mean ice miners will become more valuable in null sec than pvpers?
Has anybody ever mined ice in null sec?
Wont the bot's just move there now?
Is Ivan the bot maker is now retooling his droneland army to mine ice instead of rat?

It won't stop at 200K... ;)
And it won't be "ice" exclusively, either. Too many years of "cheap" raw materials, courtesy of bots, have allowed for the proliferation of supercaps.
Because, really, who wants to mine when you can make much more ISK ratting out anoms in 0.0 and just buy the materials you need "cheap"?
I smell OPPORTUNITY.

We don't as violence is the excuse for EVE.

Technetium to Jita, fuel on the way back? Or they can charge their renters in fuel and profess their innocence when these renters are banned for botting.

Since this thread has been foisted on MD, we probably should raise the level of discussion. I recently did some calcs and figured that that "parity price" for isotopes was about 200 times the price of Trit. This assumes maxed skills, fittings, implants, gang bonuses, etc., but it is also a ballpark number. Since ice involves less clicking and dragging, the true parity is probably somewhat lower, but it is at least a good first approximation. Therefore, topes should not be expected to go above 650 without a matching rise in trit prices.

When you come back and the hulk is down in pieces by "anti bots" people, excuse me.
Real bot hunters ignore hulks doing nothing. A hallmark of a bot is its continuously doing stuff without a break. When the above happens, its gankers looking for cheap kills and sometimes hiding behind the anti-bot banner. (And other times, like hulkageddon, they fully admit their goal).
Edit: Also ore and ice will never rise much. As they rise players will switch from mission running to mining. The eve market is actually quite resilient.
