Is it just me or has CCP just gone haywire and completely F**** the game up in such a way with their latest game patches and upgrades over the recent years that it's just making this game less enjoyable?

8 years of skill points, legitimately tradeable characters (ensuring they stay in the game). I'm pretty sure the 'end game' is everyone in a cap ship. Doesn't seem far off.

Its being WOWified.
Once they finish making it so easy that you only need to click 4 button then they will start making it so you can not pod people and all ships are 100% insured at all times.

Right thats a bad thing cause clearly the 50K players and 300k alts on eve shows how enjoyable this game is compared to that small MMO called wow with only a mesily 12million. what are CCP thinking gawd! I DEMAND MORE SHIP SPINNING IN STATIONS!

They lost their way bigtime. Completely off the tracks.
Everyday I think of a new reason for the fail-cascade the game is experiencing and like any true disaster it has too many causes to count.
From devs losing interest in the game after being kicked for insider arms races. To Hilmar setting targets for subscriber counts. To HR department running the show based on MS certification requirements rather than any real game or programming knowledge. To Marketing Department screaming promises from rooftops that can't be kept. To devs not being paid enough. Only reason to work at CCP is the country is broke so some things are cheaper. To CSM being used only as a PR tool for the longest time. To reactions being made to whine with zero understanding of the actual issues. To the game-designers themselves seeing it not become what they dreamed. To CCP stopping all development on EveOnline while trying to recoup the money sunk into the fail which is DUST. To the platitudes and garbage they feed us daily. To the fact they stopped making a game they want to play and started making a game which is attractive enough to sell to a major producer.
The list just keeps going, it's like watching "Seconds to Disaster".

Nerfing jumpbridges is not wowifing the game. it just makes it more difficult.
I do disagree with the mission changes though, that was a mistake.

I never mentioned anything about gameplay being sacrificed for graphics. But since you ask, I would say it is rather clear what CCP's direction is, and it has been pretty clear for the last 4 or 5 years. I should probably also point out how utterly stupid you are for trying to wedge marketing in to your pointless argument.
All companies that have any interest in growth rely on marketing to survive, so berating CCP for doing the same is not only short sighted but shows your severe lack of knowledge in such matters and consequently unveils the utter lack of authority and weight your post carries.
As for me proving that your idiotic comments AREN'T facts, that is not how it works. You made the statement about the decline of CCP not me, therefore the onus is on you to provide proof. It should be noted however that since most of what you seem to believe are facts, are nothing more than the meandering thoughts of a disillusioned halfwit, attempting to substantiate them would surely only lead to further humiliation.
I leave it to you to decide.

The existance of marketing isn't the issue. It's the fact that CCP marketing came into the game with very little understanding of the product they were selling and spent most of their time pushing it to the wrong audience while viewing it as a mass-market product.
Here's some basic citations for you.
Quote:
From devs losing interest in the game after being kicked for insider arms races.
Well documented T20 and Devswarm/Band of Devs cases. No you're right, never had any impact on the game.
Quote:
To Hilmar setting targets for subscriber counts.
Fanfest before last videos, he runs into each room saying "our new target is 600k" and the devs all look at him like he's a fool.
Quote:
To HR department running the show based on MS certification requirements rather than any real game or programming knowledge.

Quote:
To Marketing Department screaming promises from rooftops that can't be kept.
http://youtube.com/ccpgames 1000 v 1000 without node crashes anyone? Read the battle reports from E-ON for 18 months either side of "1000v1000"
Quote:
To devs not being paid enough. Only reason to work at CCP is the country is broke so some things are cheaper.
They attract some people for the trill of Iceland and whatever other life choices make them decide to take less pay then elsewhere. Search around enough and you'll find comments by ex-employees and details on pay structure.
Quote:
To CSM being used only as a PR tool for the longest time.
So you think the attitude within CCP where the CSM was an annoyance to be ignored was not somehow a reflection of the reasons why the company had set it up?
Quote:
To reactions being made to whine with zero understanding of the actual issues.
Nah they've never over-reacted. You're right again heh.
Quote:
To the game-designers themselves seeing it not become what they dreamed.
When was the last time you heard a senior game designer have a statement which contained any level of passion?
Quote:
To CCP stopping all development on EveOnline while trying to recoup the money sunk into the fail which is DUST.
From the mouth of Hilmar himself.
Quote:
To the platitudes and garbage they feed us daily.
Hit the back button, read their forum threads.
Quote:
To the fact they stopped making a game they want to play and started making a game which is attractive enough to sell to a major producer.
Given the info about them trying to sell is all backroom stuff and nothing can be proven. Their direction did change a lot after this was reported to have happened.
Reality does not require your belief.

when people start getting bored of a game, or eve corporation, or some out of game club etc they seem to find something to get upset about rather than doing a cheerful
Good-bye all, I have some other great opportunities but that doesn't take anything away from the great adventures we had together.. wish you the best and i'm sure new players coming in will have the same great ride I did!
Things go in cycles and however I've always longed for a persistant virtual world where players shape the environment around them.,,,and players can't help to see what the other players are builidn up, ripping down, accomplishing better or worse than they are.
So, I don't know of any other game right now that has anything remotely close to what EVE has in terms of a single shard with 10s of thousands of active people playing it (of the 300k subsrcriptions, I'm not sure there are more than 10k real people who've played for over 6 months and actively log in and interact in markets or pvp or industry in a way that impacts other players even moderately.... still thats a lot.
So, maybe i'm getting bored,
So, even as noble and magnaminous as i am ( ; ) and narcisistically self important ) I can feel myself slip to the dark side...
I wonder...why remove the level of abstaction involved in making npc's more complex... I'd like them to have more personality and variables in how they interact not less. I'd like to need to study space more to understand who was doing what.
It was fun assesing value of the space real estate .. or relative worth... based on agent types and level and story line and proximity to trade hubs, risk of low sec agent mix...
... it had some potential to iterate on player standings with different corps to get some sense of them... certainly it could have worked its way into 3d planetary interaction.. and become more guild-like.. and overlay on player corps, not a substitute...
it had some rp posiblity , beign able to see fellow workers for corporations, see their referals etc, have files of they past activity..it made for more history....
...free intel ? maybe... but more intel is more detail to the game.
Are people really going to have spys to determine who's running missions...
i can jsut see now getting rid of local and km's .. we'll know less and less.. no free intel.... less flavor.. and in the end really no difference in relative advantage.. ...
.... so, I can go bitter and think that priorties are shifting away from deeper abstraction in a virtual realm towards more emphasis on fast twitch jockyeing around ... not letting my ship do the petty stuff like systeme scanning and let me think of the banter to type in corp chat, and spend time working on eft fittings or reading killboards and the interesting stuff.

Dunno what you're talking about. I've just had a brilliant weekend of boat-violencing.
Oh and read this little snippet from a certain forum beginning with "Ku" about last night's scuffle in H-PA:
"Dude, worst lag in H-PA was 5 second module lag which cleared up if you reloaded grid. Granted it was surprising with the 1400 in local..."
So what's your problem?

I started playing Eve because it was an adult game and that it was complex. I have noticed in the last year a lot of changes trying to simplify it, and make it more parent friendly.
Although it makes me a little sad, I still have a lot of fun playing eve and that's what matters for me.

Yeah it's totally going like WOW - I mean the last set of scan and mission changes virtually made the whole game winnable with just one click.
