Tried what? Been in a huge space battle before? Yes, once or twice. Things lagged like crazy; but you people are off your rocker if you think your local graphical settings have anything to do with it. |

àexcept that it does. Not the network lag, no, but there's a reason FCs yell at people to turn their options off and down before going into large battles. And yes, even with beefy graphics cards. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Personally i think it would be pretty amazing to have the ability of letting off some steam after mining a couple hours by going to a station and getting into a random barfight/gunfight.
Could we make that happen?
I know i can't be the only one who enjoys a quick FPS gunfight once in a while.
Nothing would be more satisfying than blowing a guy's head off after the ship I worked hard for just got destroyed in lowsec.

I have the same graphics card as you, the overclocked version. I am in regular, that is REGULAR large fleet battles, not once or twice, and can assure you that your local client graphics settings do make a difference.
If you have not had much experience of the large fleet side of things, I suggest that you bow to the knowledge of people who have, and not get on your high horse making definitive statements about things that you have limited knowledge of.
Have a nice day.

Personally, I see both sides. I agree on having the option to dock normally or use CQs. As far as not having anything to do with the current game play.......
Duh?
CCP doesn't make new games but rather continue building on their one game. If you come to complain about fixing things needing to be fixed, apparently you never have played Star Wars Galaxies.
Eve can use this to open up more to their game. Right now, everyone saying they'll quit if this comes out regardless of whether it's an option or not please do so. Eve should not be held back by the niche market. Eve could give the option when docking (good idea ccp) but don't believe for one second that it should not evolve.
For those that can't or won't upgrade for Incarna, I feel you which is why I do thinks a good idea to make it optional to use CQ. As for when it is needed, I think it will spawn new interaction. As stated above, Eve by nature is an MMORPG. Incarna won't make it an RPG (explain in a second) but it does bring value. CCP is smart by implementing this because, as long as there is an option, people that would rather fly and not dock/CQ will do so as they do now and those that would like an avatar will be able to do so. As stated before, people should be given choice. Eventually, from the sounds of it, Eve may be three games in one. Space goers, WiS avatars, and don't forget about Dust 514.
This is one of the riskiest things a development team can do and coming from many MMOs, CCP has a good development team. Even with its issues, Eve is one of the best games out there. Name a game that doesn't have issues (Hint: if you can, your either ignorant, lying, or stupid).

It's fairly easy to understand why they aren't going to make this optional. Micropayments.
They want more people to get drawn in to the ridiculous fad of playing 'dress-up dolls in space' and they'll make money from all the stuff people feel obligated to buy to be 'cool'. They took lessons from the fashion industry.
Sad, but true. They sold out, basically.

Micro money and walking around in stations will attract people to EVE who want to play Second Life in space. I'm okay with a bunch of "players" walking around in stations engaging in lame roll play and make useless content for folks who want the latest space bling bling. I'm even okay with the OPTION of buying logos/ graphics to put on ships. What I have a problem with is micro money being required to actually play the game as it was intended... flying in space and doing combat or industry. Hopefully EVE will not become a pay to win game like those games in Facebook.

Everyone's making a fuss. :) Just played BiS (Barbie In Space) for the first time on Sisi, and I'm experiencing no problem with it whatso-frakkin'-ever. Runs smooth as silk. And what are the silly naysayers on about with this being resource hungry?! Bloody CQ loads (in highest quality) in less than 2 seconds, has full and correct lighting, and everything works flawlessly! Except for one tiny error when undocking:
Message: 'UndockWithApparel' Args: {}
I'm sure that's extremely minor, though.
And speaking of undocking, you can click 'undock' at every moment when in CQ, and you will automatically undock. So what is all the bull about with people claiming they need to walk 30 seconds to get to their ship?!
Nope, I'm now, more than ever, convinced that this is EVE's future, and that it should be kept a mandatory upgrade. Long live BiS! --

The total effect CQ will have on the game is like putting in a patch to change item icons into spinning 3D objects instead of a 2D image
It has no effect on the game, and to some (like me) would rather have the easy to identify 2D images.
Anyway, after having played on the test server a few time with CQ on, having had sever doubts to it's potential, I can say they're pretty much confirmed.
I can absolutely say this is, to me, nothing more than an eyesore.
It looks bad, it distracts me from what I'm doing, and I want nothing to do with it.
I want a option to turn this fluff off. ------------------------

Then you must have significantly nicer hardware than I. It takes 10-15 seconds to load the station for me, and I can't interact with anything until it all loads up.
On top of that the ships screen took ages to load. Now this is Duality I'm talking so maybe it's different on sisi.

Ok, I updated SiSi last night and tried to check out the latest CQ stuff. I have to say things are seriously screwed up. I couldn't move anywhere only getting maybe 2 fps. There where so many graphical errors and image issues i couldn't really tell what was what when I tried to go up the catwalk to the ship hangar balcony.
Also, the load time once logging in was terrible, and i hope it is not like that every time you have to dock and undock. Overall, this looks like it is nowhere even close to being ready to deploy live in 2 weeks time.
I will say the Maller re-model is awesome looking, not quite smooth enough compared to the other Amarr models. when are the other ships getting redone? I hope its not 1 model every expansion. ( How many ship models are in the game? Could take what, 100 expansions or more? )

Been faithfully paying my subscription for 5 years since this was announced and not-so-patiently waiting for this moment. And now that its here........ CCP wants MORE money than I have already given them for the clothing content they are "gracing me" with, so that I can walk around alone in my two rooms and show it off..... What an utter betrayal.
Yeah. Excuse me if I don't get too excited about MORE "nothing content" from CCP.
So seriously: WHEN IS INCARNE GOING TO HAVE REAL CONTENT? Actually, when is REAL CONTENT going to be ADDED to Eve again at all?
I think a 5-year-wait entitles some of us to an answer to these questions.
Thanks for nothing devs.

just wanted to ask if CCP are going to be applying for a PRS (performance rights society) licence for eve online so players can play songs they prefer in their bars etc... when full incarna comes out... or whether thats already been done with the customisable jukebox we already have.
i wold prefer to play songs i want in the bar i own and have people hear them than only hear the songs myself and everyone else hear some random default music. CSM Prop 1 CSM Prop 2 |
