Made this small video with comparison between docking/undocking on good ol' Tranquility and new mysterious Incarna which will tear your computer apart. There is huge difference and it's total fail for some people. Just see the truth and 10 minutes loading times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giCIctbYXJw

Edited by: Astroka on 28/05/2011 22:53:32 Two things: First of all, your computer could barely run the TQ build.
Second, the CQ build is not finished and hasn't been optimized. But I do strongly support making it optional.
Edit: Posted before I finished watching, herp derp. Kept so you can make fun of me.

I noticed no practical difference in the undocking time between the incarna build and TQ.
Besides even your TQ undocking is terribly slow.

Nice, the smartass is strong with these ones. Quelle surprise.
Now try it with two clients simultaneously... And use an actual minimum spec sys like a P4/2gig/GForce 6000+.
Suddenly not so smartassy anymore, eh? What about all the laptop users?

So basically, you're saying that Incarna docking/relaunching takes 50% longer than it should? ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

From what my Pal told me Incarna docking is barely useable on his minimum spec sys with only one account. Effectively unbearable.
While another friend who had an even lower spec sys has all but given up on EVE now.
Maybe I can get more info out of them tomorrow, when they¦re less ****ed off. ______________ Mal-¦Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-`Big damn heroes, sir.` Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

Are you actually saying that your friend is so challenged mentally, that he is complaining about his LOWER THAN MINIMUM REQUIREMENT system being unable to run EVE? Holy crap stop the presses, we have found the worlds stupidest person.

Yes, because making a niche game even more exclusive by raising system specs is the way to make it more profitable...
While the reason for the raised performance requirements adds practically no gameplay value.
Perfect.

Sarmatiko dear just log back into duality and asap you get the Loading Screen for the station check how the ships/hangar mods and all the other buttons are just fully functional even if the CQ didn't loaded yet.
Tbh i just fired up duality and check a straight load game, undock then redock for swap ship/fittings and it takes almost same time as TQ
P.S: also on a side note i noticed a looong station load this time, specially when first entering the game but that's all and with everything at max.

Actually, it takes them a while to be fully functional, and the functions they provide are (unsurprisingly) slowed down by the loading process. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

good point, we all know that's been helping every other mmo that refused to change it's graphics. I mean Everquest is soooo popular at 30,000 subs right now. and if they had upped the graphics there is no way that would in anyways have saved thier customer base.

You should switch instantly if you're alt tabbing using fixed window mode instead of full screen... I can't see any noticable difference between TQ and CQ, I would reduce the settings if you're experiencing problems...
But honestly, people should think about upgrading if you're on a 4+ year old XP machine anyway. It's only a matter of time before XP is unable to run any new releases of games as it is an obsolete OS which can only run DirectX 9 and that won't change as MS has abandoned it.

Well when the first started to test CQ the FPS and load and undock times where unbearably long at a minute or two between transitions and fps of 10, current build is smooth as butter and barely unnoticable and they said they still havent started optimizing? "Barely unnoticable" as in "very noticable" or as in "barely noticable"?
And anyway, no, they've started optimising. They'll certainly optimise some more, as it is still very much needed, but they have indeed already started. However, no optimisation in the world will ever beat the very simple matter of not loading the assets at all (which you can force the client to do the naught way, with absolutely zero ill effects)à ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

funny part is they already have the loading screen before the assets load. They could have an option ot never let it get past that part. More or less forgetting getting out of pod, you don't even have to really fully dock just to buy mods and get ammo. Like drive through fast food, but in space.
point is there is no excuse why if you wanted *I wouldn't* you could just let it sit on the loading screen forever as per option in the settings.
