I would like to add to this that the desire for us to keep the old hanger and enter CQ optionally after docking is not all driven by min spec pc's and performance issues. I can't verify if they are justified on those grounds as my machine runs CQ fine. There is also the RP and design arguments. Either way making it optional means that those that want it can still get all the incarna goodness while those that don't can actually ignore it. From a logic, pr, rp, and design standpoint CQ being optional makes perfect sense. The only way it doesn't is if CCP want to make us all guinea-pigs for testing CQ out... which makes no business sense. And even if it did as a player I could never support that.
The vid is quite amusing though ;-p __________________________________________________

Yes that's my point
I tried to run Duality client today on laptop which I bought for my mom in 2008 (Toshiba L300 with Celeron-M 550 2GHz, 1 GB RAM and x1300 Intel graphics ). It barely handles TQ client with huge loading times and 5-10 fps "in space", same in Duality. But hey, this is cheap crap for internet browsing, I bought it with purpose, not to play games. Why would I complain if my laptop specs is lower than minimum system requirements?

Second, the CQ build is not finished and hasn't been optimized. But I do strongly support making it optional.
Edit: Posted before I finished watching, herp derp. Kept so you can make fun of me.
Not optimised? You optimise in the design by normalising database tables and good design practices.
They are releasing it in less than 1 month and its not optimised? They do this along the way, I would hope they have a perf team giving guidence to devs and running tests along with a stress team perhaps the same.

lmao, this isn't a working company that has an understanding of these matters. It's CCP.
Optimization is pretty much 'hey, whats the number for nvidia developer relations?' (which is bad enough as is, but they don't even do the code handover that other developers do, in before security - it just needs to be the render frontend and testing framework, but they font do that either)
And a reminder for current CCP employees : remember to sperg a bit on CCP on Glassdoor , just do it at home where you dont have prying sreegs'. It's a good read for customers too~~

Raising nmin requirments for content that that least half the players dont want - that doesnt make sense.

Completely anecdotal, I think that was implied.
But after talking to people in game(corp etc.) Im certain that at LEAST half the people either dont care or are actively against using Incarna every time they dock.

Really? Must¦ve played a different game then, as I don¦t remember ANY of your alleged protests to actual content CCP introduced there.
As for the idiotPad, STILL nobody needs it. But as it¦s Apple the apple lemmings follow their pied piper while marketing a$$holes are again creating a need where there isn¦t one. ______________ Mal-¦Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-`Big damn heroes, sir.` Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

I dont remember anyone feeling like WH space was being forced on them - absolutely no one.
You know why? Because entrance is optional!!
And people complaining about the balance aspect of new ships has NOTHING to do with people complaining about being forced to enter living quarters when they dock.
Get a clue noob.
