I just finished watching this excellent installment and it was quite worth the wait. I will have to watch this movie again to catch all the little background images, pausing as necessary to read the fine prints. Whether these images are fodder or inside jokes awaits to be seen.
Hopefully after an extended break Ian and crew will feel creative and produce Clear Skies 4. The ending was quite open-ended for expansion instead of closure.
Again, thank you again for the hard work and wonderful films!

I think CS3 wasn't as epic as CS2. Signature removed due to the excess of awesomeness, my lord. |

I'm afraid I can't agree with that. Clear Skies has been improving steadily since the beginning, and CS3 is much or more of an improvement than CS2 was.
Think of the stakes! CS2 centered around the fate of a single station. This was, well...certainly grander.

That was thoroughly brilliant, can't imagine the amount of time and effort that went in, but it shows. Well worth the wait! Cheers!

Awesome stuff :)
Still seeding on BitTorrent, for those who are still downloading it.
I'll be waiting here to see if the cast and crew will bless us with another of these awesome movies!

I think the whole "shutting down the entire network" thing was too vaguely if not poorly illustrated and it didn't felt as big of a treat than the million faces showing in CS2. It is just too big of a scale to be properly pictured or felt. Of cause, the device is Jovian... powerful and mysterious... yeah yeah it can even wipe out the entire galaxty if they wants to, but there wasn't much of a emotional battle or a progressive build up of tention, it is just a dull "here is the threat, alright I'll do it, jeez" kind of situation. The Jovians even showed up but they didn't grab the device themselves.
The hotdrop was "epic" in the sense that it involved a ship sacrificed, touching, and a bunch of capitals fighing each other. But it was their job, and they even outnumbered the enemy and the fight was one sided. In CS2 the fight involved many more characters in different ships and they all faught to protect what they want to protect and it was a much more meaningful fight. This time it was just rather, dull.
But there were good things too, things like John going back to save his girlfriend and pwnt the sleepers with a smartbomb was awesome. The dogfight with the frigates was awesome. The "best shot in my life" thing was rather pushed just so they can destroy (or use up entirely) their ship one more time. Yeah... I liked CS2 better, it was more touching than QQ I SAVED THE GIRL THIS TIME AND SHE LOVES ME NOW.

Guys have you not learned yet how big of a troll Calathea Sata is?
Everything new feature to come to eve, every dev spot, and ever piece of fan work has been nothing but belittled by her.
get smart, stop feeding the troll.
That is not to say she doesn't have some good points, but before she even watched CS3 she already had it in mind to find something to complain about. It's just to get a raise, attention, and stick out.

There were things I didn't like about it, but that doesn't take away from its accomplishment or entertainment.
My one big gripe is audio. The audio levels on headphone/speakers are fine, but when played on a home entertainment system, the music/effects wash out dialogue too much.
That's my only gripe that detracts from this series, other than that, Grade ****ing A+ material. ♥

to be fair I do have friends just like you in real life : P
and you have a lot of great points, like the one sided nature of the fight compared to being outnumbers, and so on.
But people reply to you with rage when that's pointless, you just like looking for and pointing the weaknesses in something.

But wanted to say in my humble opinion you guys (all cast and crew) of Clear Skies have certainly matured as producers in almost every regard.
Excellent stuff.

Totally awesome stuff this! Now, if there is ever a fourth installment - which I seriously hope - the least CCP could do in exchange for the free publicity and the new subs is to give Ian and the team help in transferring these characters to Carbon.
* Get the art department to "copy" the models to Carbon * Give the crew of Clear Skies their own special ships * And for the love of Amarr's God, give the man a job! ---

Agreed on the "totally awesome" point there, as well as perhaps bribing Ian and Co into producing a 4th film As for the models used, they couldn't do that with any of the internal scenery or people as they are the property of another games company.
Ian and his friends most certainly ALL deserve a one off copy of a Tempest with the "Clear Skies" logo affixed to the hull, like the Alliance Tournament prizes, for all their hard work and "free promotion" of EVE to the masses

I am in the CS2 was better camp. I enjoyed CS3 and yes it was funny in places but a Tempest spinning like a top and one shotting Sleepers I found jaring.
It was good and I enjoyed it and thank you for releasing it.
I must now delay my purchases of a fleet tempest as I'm resonably sure they'll be going up in price.

Excellently done. The script was well done. Dialogue, excellent. Camera work, nice. Voice talent was solid. Animation good. Compositing was good as well.
One can tell you put a great deal of work into this and it paid off. Quite entertaining and very impressive.
Now imagine being able to do all the character work completely in Eve... --------------

Edited by: Solstice Project on 31/05/2011 09:51:48 yeah it's me again. i'm talkative and excentric, live with it.
when i was almost at the end of part three i thought "nah no way. can't be. that's like ... and ending. the end."
i wanted to stop watching and starting to insult you guys badly. like ... really badly. like forum-ban-badly. then pay mercs to hunt your pods. like, every week. could do that. would do that. really.
well, you got lucky i watched it 'till the end.
this is SO awesome. i'll tell everybody i know about your work. won't bring you anything but fame. but that's good enough.
Thanks a lot for this effort. Thanks for pleasing the millions ... and MILLIONS ... of ppl by making this. (slightly exaggerating)
now get to work, i wanna see part 4. :)
oh btw. seeding of course. for a while. also ... i do not have to relogin on the forums all the time. hey ccp you fixed that finally ? lol
