Edited by: Gangster101 PureLove on 30/05/2011 14:02:12 Is the current warp speed/times accurate in the game? I traveled 22.9 A (for expample) to reach a certain stargate and started the timer once my ship was inside the warp tunnel 'at full warp speed' and stopped the timer once out of the tunnel. It took me 24 seconds!
If thats not cool, traveling 40.2 A it took my ship (full speed inside the tunnel) 21 seconds to reach it's destination.
So I guess we can conclude warp time is random.

Speed up/speed down
Hmm this is strange.
In addition, I decide who 'GTFO' so you may want to keep that in mind before your next witty reply.

It's definitely generally accurate. When traveling 6 systems with my pod (3au/s) alongside an anathema (13.5au/s) the anathema caught up and actually overtook, despite the fact that I'd started first and could instawarp off the gates while the cov-ops had to spend at least a second getting up to speed. In a similar way to how when I was escorting a freighter (0.75au/s) and my frigate (6au/s) usually arrived on the next gate before the freighter even though I waited until the frieghter warped before I did the same. So there is a definite difference between the slow and the fast speeds but as to how consistantly a ship can maintain its specific warp speed, I don't know. So long as my ship at least averages out at my stated warp speed then I've never really looked into it.

If you hold your mouse cursor over the speed gauge (the blue area beneath your capacitor circle) it will show you your current speed, in a tooltip updated instantly. You can use this to monitor the acceleration into warp and the deceleration at the other side. The maximal warp speed in AU/s is correct as displayed. --- ISD IonCharge Lt. Commander ISD STAR |

You spend 5% of the time accellerating, 35% flying at warp speed and another 60% decellerating.
Idiotic I know ...

Seems a little odd but thanks for the replies.

If you are using sound, the explosion signifies that you stopped accelerating, and are now going full speed, and the onset of the whoompa-whoompa sound means you started to decelerate. You will also notice changes in the look of the warp tunnel. You will also notice that the distance stops changing at regular intervals. And of course, you can mouse over to get exact speed. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

When the ship starts shuddering ever so slightly, and you get a slightly curious noise, you're slowing down to drop from warp.

And be careful you don't come out of hyperdrive right in the middle of an uncharted asteroid belt.

Read the following post as there is an acceleration time to reach warp speed which depends on mass and agility. So a Freighter and a shuttle have big differences in mass and agility.
