Hello everyone,
I would like to ask a question about hauling prices. What is the average price for transporting goods in high sec? In jumps, m3 or both.

Edited by: achoura on 31/05/2011 10:14:17 Public ones tend vary wildly, but tend to be underpriced most of the time. Private ones mean a good income for afk work, and are actually reliable. Linkage ***The EVE servers and their patches***

I work on 2 rules for creating courier jobs
1..
Sub 25k m3 = 40k per jump high sec 25k+ (inc freighter) = 250k jump highsec
2
If collatoral is more than say 100mill.. then i do 1% of collatoral upto 5mill reward.... but thats just me, a lot of people try and pay less.. .ive seen freighter jobs paying as little as 30k per jump.
But again, a lot depends on the location of the item, IE if its doing a Jita > (any other hub, amarr, rens etc) then you can get away with paying less as its a route often being travelled... But if its being moved from random sysem of the beaten track more payment will be required to entice people to go get it

I pay 2% of collateral, but minimum 200K isk, regardless of the number of jumps and courier sizes. May not be so attractive to inter regional haulers, but mine are always intra region 2~10 jump contracts paying normally about 500,000~1,000,000 per job. I usually have 30~40 of these open couriers for public every day, and they get picked up quite well.

Well, then I have to think about my current job assigner. She assigns me contracts (I am doing some hauling bussiness)with an average of 10-20 k per jump and no startup costs what so ever....

Wide ranging, all over the board. I put out 10 contracts the other day, all under 120 m3 so any frigate could do it, and I paid a reward of 320K to 500K for just one jump for each contract. That is way over the "25K per jump" benchmark. I could have made it one big contract but then an indy or transport would be needed so I wanted it moved fast and broke them into small pieces so frigates could move it. I paid out over 3.5 million ISK--I could have paid far less but who knows how long a hauler would agree, and even if I would get any takers at all. My orders got snapped up fast because of the high rewards (and because a frigate could move it).
If I am going to haul a long distance, does the m3 size require a ship that can warp at .75 AU, or 13.5 AU or somewhere in between? Based on my time, I would take or reject a contract based on my ship speed, as well as the reward/collateral attributes. I believe some who put contracts out do not take into account the m3 capability of the hauling ships and are bewildered why the contract is not moved (besides a reward too small). Breaking up one contract for 250 m3 into two contracts of 125 m3 each should get takers a lot faster since you open up those with frigates to haul the stuff--one contract of 250 m3 restricts potential haulers by filtering out newer players.
I saw other contracts where the route was 10-20 jumps and the reward was nothing, like just 50K for a 20 jump route. If you want your stuff moved, offer a reasonable reward. Size of m3 is crucial. If a highspeed transport or covert ops ship can do it based on m3, that would price different than a slow speed indy or freighter. You'll figure it out if you get into this heavy--there are a number of items to take into account on how to properly price reward/collateral.

I need to track down some of these contracts... The most I seem to have available is anything up to 500k (but rarely that high), but maybe that's because I don't have the collateral?

Gez, maybe because I havnt been on the market for a courier for a long while, but both of your pricing systems are a lot easier than what Ive looked at in the past.
