/emote kills self /Is super ineffective! /emote is sad
... Seriously, though, I'm not sure a haul of WoW players would be the best idea. SOME are fine, but there's also a considerable amount of drooling grapefruits :< (but they would probably just quit EVE the first time they died anyway, so eh, problem fixes itself)

EvE doesn't cater to folks with short attention spans. I agree that WiS will open up the game for many more players, but the folks who play WoW will get bored quickly. Heck, they get bored with WoW quickly already and that game moves at lightspeed compared to EvE in terms of character progression and getting into the endgame content. Incarna would have to bring in HUGE amounts of things to do in stations before it will begin to drain fantasy MMO markets of players.

We'll see. Its just one room - one race's room at that - so numpties can dance around in their MT monocles and Nanopants. Factor in the time time it will take to get that part smoothed out... (lore holds 18 months+) and the average success rate with similar projects (wormholes: WIN! FW: Not so much), and I'm less concerned. Make no mistake, I concur with your projection in the long range.

Edited by: Sabmin Crow on 31/05/2011 17:54:32 Good prediction! I'm coming from W.O.W. :) Granted I played this from '06-'09. Definitely missed it. I'm assuming I'll be coming back into enough changes that I might as well be starting anew?
Oh yeah the station walking had nothing to do with my coming back by the way.

Short attention spans, I beg your pardon? Ever done 4 hour long raids?
WoW players won't flood EVE, GW2 is expected to be released end of the year .. and there's also Rift to keep them busy in the meantime. ________________* - If you're in favour of a bloodline change please vote in the Assembly Hall in this thread - |

Regardless,
There's a fair amount of people who play eve who play WoW and they are the same one's coming into the EvE forums complaining about "WoW players invading Eve" as if those who played any other game are terrible people because of there choice of game.
Who cares? Infact if a massive influx of players came to EvE it would be great. More money for CCP which would mean better server hardware, more content development budget and a Higher interest in interstellar combat. The player doesn't change the game, the people complaining about other player's not "belonging" does.
I doubt that there are many people who play EvE who don't have friends/family who play WoW STILL. Just because it's not your liking doesn't mean it's all of a sudden up for mocking without offense. Also look at CCP's development, they are one of if not THE best developer for listening to their players and making changes the majority are asking for. Just because a hand full of forum whine-bags want to complain doesn't mean they represent the majority.
If EvE turns into WoW in space, it wont because because it's what everyone HATES(supply and demand). So all you EvE hipster's will have to deal with your precious little private game going "mainstream" and adjust your lenseless glass's and get over yourselves.

As long as I can make them cry I welcome all wow-players. Since incarna will have no content they will be forced to either undock or quit at some point and none of those hurt eve.

I read "EVE will grow with targets" and smiled. More subscribers = more money to CCP, which = more potential money to be used on expanding and developing EVE. More players = more targets/explosions(aka: "other PVPers"), and as we all know: the mo' explosions, the mo' bettah.
