First I got those randomly "blackscreen" before I enter login-screen, everything goes black but I can see and move my mouse cursor. Force-quit (cmd-opt-shift-esc) helps and restart EVE often works.
But my main problems is that it freezes in-game, the sound "feezes"/"repeating" and the screen freezes. Usually after a warp when I arrive destination (mostly asteroid fields or combat). Checking iStat and my system is fine, even tried on lowest graphic and it freezes.
My system is a new: iMac Intel Core i7 2,93 GHz Cores: 4 L2-cache (per core): 256 K L3-cache: 8 MB Memory: 8 GB ATI Radeon HD 5750 - 1024 MB
Anyone else with this problem? Please help.

Exactly the same here, on an iMac 27. I have to restart up to 6-7 times before I get past the black screen mentioned. (But luckily no freezes!)

The sound problem always appears before the "freeze", and sometimes just the sound but the game works fine. Can it be problems with the sound that starts everything?

Same problem on a similarly configured new 27 inch iMac as well. It seems to of increased in frequency since the 1.6 patches. Just prior the client was running very well and now this nightmare.

I tgought that it might be some problem with the sound that makes it crash because always I got the sound-freeze, even when the games keeps going. So I turned off all sounds and looks like it worked... then I turned all sound on again but stoped the jukebox and played music from outside EVE (Spotify). Have been running a couple of agent missions now without any freeze. And now the #3 patch came out so dunno if that one fixed the problem. So far so good.

I hate it but I have given up now and turned to parallels for EVE use now. I would advice everyone else to do the same - saves you a lot of frustrated hair-pulling and worrying about your hardware really.

I have the same issue. Black screen and can move mouse but many times I have to reboot. Hate doing that on a big iMac

I got the same problems on my iMac 27" :
- Blackscreen before I enter the login-screen
- Client crashing when it jumps through a gate while tabbed out (autopilot).

From the Incarna patch notes today:
"FIXES
Stability
Client start up mechanics have been improved to heavily reduce black screening issues."
